Buy a better straightener. I never have that problem, you only have that problem when the straightener is not really good quality. Invest in a good one.

If you can't afford one for a while, buy a finishing spray that smells good or a protecting spray to spray on your hair before you straighten, it reduces damage and most smell good.

Never use body perfume. It contains alcohol, which dries out your hair even more.

Well, maybe you need to get a different straightener, or set the temp down a little, thats not good. Otherwise, I always use a lightly scented perfume or body spray, spray it infront of my and swing my head up and down into it, or raise your arm as far as you can and spray it, so that the spray "falls" onto your hair...Thats so your hair won't look greasy or anything...Don't spray it directly on your hair. They also have hair perfume that you can get anywhere. Good luck.

i think you need to invest in another hair straightener if your hair smells like that...

use a lower heat setting!!! clean any styling product buildup from the surface of the iron with a soft, damp cloth

You NEED to use product when straightening your hair. You need to use some sort of straightening gel and I would also suggest some of the spray (like CHI) that you spray in your hair just before straightening. Otherwise you are ruining your hair.

Well, besides buying another straightner, I would use some sort of product. Actually, I DO use some sort of product lol. I'm usually in a hurry so I pop it up to the highest setting and just straighten it really quick, so I get the same thing. I use Garnier Fructis Style: Smoothing Milk.

1. It smells good and will get rid of the burnt smell

2. It will keep your hair down and get rid of any frizzies that might pop up during the day!!!

Its pretty much a win-win. And it's not too expensive, it also lasts a while!!!

it must just be that your leaving the iron to long on one piece of your hair, which burns your hair thus making it smell burned so you should just put a little baby oil on ur hair, but not alot or else it'll look oily

sweetie- you've got the iron up WAY tooo hot! you should never set it higher than 200- and that's pushing it! a good way to know if it's too hot or not- take a piece of tissue paper- and clamp your iron on it for 3 seconds. if it turns yellow, or brown- it's too hot! I recommend using a thermal spray protectorate. There are a wide varieties available at your local beauty supply! They really help protect your hair from over-heating, and also add shine, and reduce frizz to make the straightening last longer. Plain and simple- your hair smells burnt because it IS!
