i got a perm some years ago and it borke my hair off so i stopped preming it so 3 years later i get another perm but a different one the olive oil but it didn't come out the way i wanted it to do you think that it is safe to straighten it with the flat iron

I am a dedicated flat iron user for 2 years and I have to say it is very damaging. I don't know much about perms but if I would have to guess 2 perms and straightning is very damaging but get other opinions!

Anytime you use a straightener it can damage your hair but especially after a chemical service. DO NOT use it since you have permed hair now...Unless you want to end up with dull and dry hair or worse yet, broken pieces and split ends.

yeah it's safe. because i did the same thing day before yesterday. i don't know your hair type so i would suggest before flat ironing put some kind of heat protection in your hair

I always get a perm and then straighten it after I blow dry it.

if your going to straighten your hair with anything that uses heat try using biosilk or chi infusion put it in your hair before you iron your hair and it will help protect it

I straighten my hair every day and it isnt damaged because i use chi iron gaurd it cost like 11 dollars and you can get it at beauty stores and it protects your hair from the straightener and makes it feel silky and shiny.It works really good they have it by conair too for cheaper.

i have been perming my hair for about 16 years and straigting it to with the flat iron... if you keep your hair contitioned , moisturized, (greased if your black) your hair will be perfectly fine!! but do put on i think its called VO5 ( i dont kno what the product is called its self but i kno thats who makes it) and its to protect you hair from heat. styling your hair everyday wit a flatiron causes damage for sure.. but thats where wrapping your hair comes in!! any more questions e-mail me!!
