Anyone know a better way to straighten my hair besides using a damaging straightener every day?

I straighten my hair with a Conair straightener every day and I'm worried that it might be damaging my hair. Anyone know a better way?

You can get a no lie-relaxer for fine to medium hair...if your hair is naturally curly..there is a johnson and johnson relaxer for fine to medium hair...Yes the lady on the box is african american but its better than paying 5,000 dollars for some japanese lady to straighten it for you......for caucasian people all you have to do is apply it for 20 minutes into small sections and rinse...it will leave your hair completely straight for about 3 months. Make sure to do a strip test before you apply it to your hair. I know because my mom is white...I'm half black...so my hair has same texture as curly hair...it works great and doesn't damage it.

If you've got the money, you could have it professionally straightened. Any processing to your hair causes damage though.

You can go to a salon and get it chemically straightened periodicly. They have straightners for more than just ethnic hair. There are plenty of white people with curly hair.

Whether you straighten your hair with a straightener every day, by blow drying it straight, or chemically straighten it, it is going to be damaging. Don't do it every day. Do it every other day. Use a leave in conditioner before you straighten it. Deep condition once a week, and get frequent trims. There is no better way to straighten it.

You know what your best bet is to probably get it professionally straightened. They have organic stuff out nowadays and doesn't damage your hair as bad as the hair iron. My sister just got hers done and she used to do the same thing that your doing. I think it's like a chinese or japanese herbal or organic something that helps your hair alot too as well as leave it straight for about 6 months. Good Luck.

Have you ever tried blow drying your hair in sections with a round brush ? First you blow it dry partially, then section the hair off with clippies, top, middle, and bottom. Blow dry the bottom hair first, then middle, then top. That is the way I started straightening my hair. First, I have frizzy, wavy and sometimes curly hair, it is never consistent. Before there was such a thing as a flat iron i had no choice but blow dry it straight every night. There is an art to the procedure and it takes time. However, it is better than using a flat iron. Also, After I blow dry straight, I set the locks with fat Hot rollers to set The strands and decrease the frizzes.

first of all con air is not a great brand of hair styling tools if you put a heat protective spray in ur hair before u straighten it will help with the condition but like everyone has said and heat or chemical application to ur hair is damaging. invest in a professional straightener.
