I got Thermal Reconditioning(Japanese Hair straightening) done on Friday, when can I wash my hair?

I had a Matrix Opti.Smooth straightening done Friday night and I wanted to know when I can wash my hair. If I wash it now will it affect the treatment at all? I don't want to ruin it, so should I wait until tomorrow or the next day?

I got Thermal Reconditioning(Japanese Hair straightening) done on Friday, when can I wash my hair?

My hair is curly! I want to an efficient hair straightening cream! Help!?

I'm 15 and i have curly hair. I need a hair straightening cream or shampoo available in Mauritius! I want to get rid of the frizz! Plzzzzzzzzz HEEEELLLLLP!

My hair is curly! I want to an efficient hair straightening cream! Help!?

Don't use straightening irons - lot's of girls fall into that trap and all it will end up doing is taking up a lot of your time and completely destroying the quality of your hair.

You need a curl relaxer. And the best you can get is Phyto Phytodefrisant Botanical Hair Relaxing Balm. Apply it to damp hair and then blow dry (or just wait for) it to dry. Not only will relax your curls into waves or completely straight locks (depending on how much you use), it will get rid of any and all frizz you may have.

The best thing is is that it's chemical free (so it won't weaken your hair) and oil-free (so it won't make your hair look oily like a lot of other relaxants).

Since you live in Mauritius the best place to purchase it would be through Amazon (here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Phyto-Phytodefrisa... ).

Hope it helps! :)

My hair is curly! I want to an efficient hair straightening cream! Help!?

If you have super curly hair like I do the only thing that I have found that was effective and with out frizz was getting it chemically straightened at the salon. That said...my sister and I found it much easier to just embrace the curl too much stress to fight it. I use Noodle Head by Beyond Zone which you can get through Sally beauty supply.

My hair is curly! I want to an efficient hair straightening cream! Help!?

Frederic Fekkai's Glossing Cream is AWSOME!!!

My hair is curly! I want to an efficient hair straightening cream! Help!?

I have curly hair too and what I have found is that shampoo and conditioner alone will not straighten your hair. For a cheap solution without having to go to the salon and chemically straighten it (costs a bundle and is really bad for you hair!), I would get some good smoothing shampoo like Redkin Smooth Down this will help reduce the frizz greatly. Secondly get a good straightener and leave in conditioner. Once you get out of the shower put in the leave in conditioner while your hair is wet (don't put too much or it will leave it kinda hard like hairspray). Blow dry your hair and straighten with a flat iron or you could buy a straightener that drys your hair at the same time but I'm not sure if they work well. I do emphasize to get a good flat iron/ straightener.

My hair is curly! I want to an efficient hair straightening cream! Help!?

To calm my frizzy hair i use heat protectant gel by wella called 'new wave' (comes in a red thingy), even if i don't straighten my hair after that it makes it feel a bit straighter because it makes your hair a bit heavier and it has a bit of a hold!

My hair is curly! I want to an efficient hair straightening cream! Help!?

Ok first stop eating the crusts on the end of ur bread lol my mum always used to say it makes ur hair curly!!

Bet u think wot i've just said is silly! Huh? DUH!!! Curly hair is stunning if it's like madly curly u something to help tame it!! However GHD,Bed head, and Tigi our the best hair products on the market!! They all have a straight cream products if u want summit which a little less pricey by VO5 straighting balm!! Good luck.//x

My hair is curly! I want to an efficient hair straightening cream! Help!?

I'm not sure if you have these in the Mauritius, but here they are anyways :P

Nivea Lissage ''Straight and Easy Lisse Balm''

Pomade from Tigi works well

Tresemme heat protection balm protects from straightener heat.

Good luck!

Where can i get a good hair straightening cream in Kolkata?

I want to buy a good hair straightening cream. I'v heard about L'oreal hair straightening cream, but not aware of the brand. Please help me out guys. And also let meknow about the price,%26amp; the usage.

Where can i get a good hair straightening cream in Kolkata?

i use pantene pro v. its called always smooth, its a 3 step shampoo, conditioner, and a anti-frizz serum. it works great on my hair. i some what curly hair and it has straighten my hair allot. i spent about 15.00 dollars on it. and that's about the only thing i being using.

Where can i get a good hair straightening cream in Kolkata?

Not trying to be flippant but why don't you just use straighteners? You will only have to shell out once to buy them and they won't clog your hair up with product... just a thought!

Where can i get a good hair straightening cream in Kolkata?

straightening cream sounds like harsh chemicals... ever thougt about going easy with your hair and using Mixed Chicks leave-in conditioner/styling cream. It tames frizz and makes nice waves or curls depending on your hair, without getting sticky. you can get the stuff on afrotherapy.com or in NY (u.s.) at Ricky's Beauty Supply stores.

Chemical over chemical?? (hair straightening)?

Two months ago- I had the magic straightening system done. My hair is still not straight. I have made an appointment to get the Chi Transformation System done. The girl did a test strand and said it came out fine.. Still.. I'm worried. Should I do it?

Chemical over chemical?? (hair straightening)?

Ask them first if it's safe if they say yes, then it should be fine. But, sometimes hair straightening remedies don't work on some types of hair - or you went to a crap salon to get it done.

Good luck, love.

Chemical over chemical?? (hair straightening)?

when u had ur straughtening,if the roots were also treated with chemical then dont go for it.if strips were used during treatment then u can think of going for it

Can anyone tell me about chi hair straightening?

I want to straighten my hair and would like someone to tell me all about chi straightening...does it use harsh chemicals? My hair is frizzy and "poofy." I hate using the flat iron, all the time. It just takes too long.

Can anyone tell me about chi hair straightening?

The Chi straightener is like the Japanese straightener. Its as harsh as any other chemical you would put on your hair.If you hate your hair the way it is (frizzy, poofy and ironing it all the time) you'll love it. all you have to do is get out of the shower run a comb through your hair and it will dry straight.

Can anyone tell me about chi hair straightening?

I have a Chi hair straightener, it works VERY well with fuzzy hair. It takes me about ten minutes to straighten my hair. The liquid chi stuff works great too...I'[m not sure about chemicals. It tends to be a little pricy so go onto E-bay and you can get it much cheaper. I got my Chi hair straightener, originaly $145.00, brand new on E-bay for 15 bucks including shipping! It came with two bottles of chi straightening liquid. Anyways, good luck, I hope you find what your looking for.

Can anyone tell me about chi hair straightening?

well oils and gel make my hair greesy but the straightener for chi takes about 5-15 minutes IT ROCKS! and it would do poof your poofyness! but the gel probly works cuz CHI ROCKS!

xoxo

aBBIE

Can anyone tell me about chi hair straightening?

The Chi system is better for your hair than most. Farouk makes brands that are healthy for your hair.

Just make sure that when you get it done it is by someone that has done it before.

You also might want to purchase some Silk Therapy from them, its wonderful...adds shine and smoothness to your hair.

Is Straightening your hair bad?

hii i have curly hair and straighten it about once a week...is it damaging to my hair?? what can i use to protect it?? btw my straightener is Conair and its ceramic

Is Straightening your hair bad?

Once a week isn't too bad. I used to straighten my hair every single day...I stopped recently because my hair was getting too damaged, and I let my hair go back to it's normal waves, but it's not the same way it used to be; it's fried! There's split ends everywhere and it's baad.

So as long as you only do it once in a while I think it's okay. Just use repairing shampoo and don't let the straightener heat up too much so it ends up completely burning your hair (I've had some nasty burns on my ear from letting my straightener get too hot lol)

What do you do with your hair when you don't straighten it? I mean like do you just leave it how it is naturally or do you curl it or something? Cause generally too much heat is not good for your hair, so anything like curling, crimping, or straightening uses that heat.

So yes, not to scare you or anything lol, just advising that using too much heat on your hair can damage it =P (then again, keeping in mind that my hair is like this after like...4 months of straightening it about 4 or 5 times a week...so that's A LOT lol)

P.S. I think I use the same or similar hair straightener as you lol :)

Is Straightening your hair bad?

I'm a guy and I straiighten my hair every single day. My hair is healthy as can be. But thats only because I use "Biosilk". Its quite expensive but well worth it. I get compliments on my hair every day and I've been straightening it for about a year now every day. Report It

Is Straightening your hair bad?

yeah. it is damaging. but you can buy some repair stuff at any department store, just look in the hair section, by the shampoos and stuff, there's a bunch to choose from. look for something that will moisturize and repair damaged hair.

Is Straightening your hair bad?

if you don't use the correct products to protect it from heat, it can damage your hair. Products such as CHI or Matrix are very good they protect you hear

Is Straightening your hair bad?

It makes ur hair dry and roots become weak. It increases hair fall u.

Is Straightening your hair bad?

If U Do It Too Much.

Is Straightening your hair bad?

Once a week isn't bad. It's those people who straighten their hair every day that need to worry.

Is Straightening your hair bad?

once a week is great! i do it everyday, and it's horrible. but i recently started use this CHI hair protecter, and i love it! it comes in a red bottle, i'm not sure of the name though. i tested it also. i sprayed it on one side of my hair, but not the other. i then straightened my hair as usual. when i felt the side with chi sprayed into it, it was not as hot as the other unsprayed side! good luck =]

Is Straightening your hair bad?

no not at all. i got my hair straighted and it looks hot

Is Straightening your hair bad?

It can dry it out, use conditioner regularly and try not to burn your hair. Get your hair trimmed every 6 weeks or so.

Is Straightening your hair bad?

hmm istraighten my hair like everyday almost lol... it doesnt really damage it...theres some sprays u can buy to protect form damage.... but it does make my hair look dry =/

Is Straightening your hair bad?

yes, it is damaging, because you are practically frying your hair, but if you use a diffuser it will defenitely help out!

Is Straightening your hair bad?

yes but if you use good conditioning treatments then it wont be as damaged i have curls and i only straighten once a week and then dont wash for two days that way i am not applying constant heat which is what damages your hair

Is Straightening your hair bad?

I personally straiten my hair at least once a day. i have been told it is bad to. but my stylest at the salon I get my hair cut at, says it isnt as long as your careful. what you need to get is a heat protectant. thats what will help keep your hair nice when you straiten it and wont damage it.

Is Straightening your hair bad?

Very BAD! If you can't resist conditions like CRAZY!

Is Straightening your hair bad?

yes if you do it alot think about it you are burning your hair to make it smooth so you shouldnt do it alot b/c your hair will get dried out and it gets really frizzy afterwards i have really curly hair and it got damage i had to let it grow and then cut out the fried hair but it constatly grows so as long as you take care of it is fine

Is Straightening your hair bad?

I think it can be damaging if you use a high heat and do it every day.

However, if you only do it once a week, it should not do too much damage.

Just make sure you use good products (shampoo, conditioner, straightner) and try and not wash your hair every day. The more you do to hair, the more the natural oils are stripped and that is what causes dry/brittle hair.

You might also want to do a deep conditioner once a week.

Is Straightening your hair bad?

Of course it's damaging your hair...u can use hair masks for recovering strenghth and shine like Glisskur19 or smth like this....

Is Straightening your hair bad?

no r u crazy of coure not!

Is Straightening your hair bad?

it does damage your hair. but all u need 2 do 2 protect it...or at least help it is 2 use conditioner after u shampoo. hope this helps.

Is Straightening your hair bad?

yes it is damaging. especially conair. the best thing is to work with hair that you have. if you have curly, leave it curly. or use a straightening serum like John Freida frizz-ease.

Is Straightening your hair bad?

yes starighting ur hair is bad

i heard from an experiencec person that if u use it alot like once every day or two it falls off

so its better to do it like once every two weeks and make sure u take hair vitamins and good moisturizers

Is Straightening your hair bad?

of course its damaging your hair? check for split ends.. but if you go hair dressers regualry get a trim an a treatment you will be sorted. good luck!!

Is Straightening your hair bad?

It's very damaging to your hair so make sure you use really good shampoo and conditioner (ask your hairdresser to recomend a good one for you). Also, you should try to use a product which conditions while you heat style (you can buy them anywhere...Target, Walmart, etc) and if it becomes too damaged use a protien treatment (Chocolate Head by Bed Head is excellent). GL!

Is Straightening your hair bad?

conair is like really bad in the first place

i straighten my hair like practily every day and my hair is as healthy as it has been b4 i started staighting it but i also u a really good conditioner so yeah

and i use a chi ceramic and it doesnt damage my hairand i luv it

heres the link to the protecting spray that i use

oh and no youre not damaging your hair

Is Straightening your hair bad?

Any heat that you put on your hair can be damaging. This can include blow drying, curling and straightening. You can help prevent this with a heat anti-damaging product, that you apply to your hair before straightening. You can find this at any Sally's or local beauty supply store.

Is Straightening your hair bad?

I have the curly hair problem and i straighten mine every other day. You are damaging your hair. But you can fix it by using treseme products for shampoo and such and also VO5 has good straightening gel.

Is Straightening your hair bad?

Hey! I use a straightener by Conair every day and the best way to protect it is by getting a special spray that you spritz on before you straighten. VO5 makes one and if you want even more protection, try the heat defense spray by Biolage. The health and thickness of your hair is the main concern. If you have really thin or already damaged hair, then I'd straighen it less. If your hair is healthy or thick, then it can handle the heat. Just remember to condition regularly and you'll be good to go.

Is Straightening your hair bad?

Well no matter how little you straighten your hair it is damaging, but you can do a lot to protect it from getting fryed.

Since you have a ceramic straightener you're already fighting damage.

But you can take it an extra step.

Try buying some hair product that helps fight damage. Try Thermasilk Straight %26amp; Smooth leave-in cream.

Avoid getting any hair products that have silicone in it. [Just look in the back for the ingredients that end with cone]

also to avoid getting fryed hair try looking at this link:

http://beauty.ivillage.com/hair/0,,bdgwq...

Hope this helped!!

Is Straightening your hair bad?

There are many heat activated styling creams. Alberto has one as well as Thermasilk and many many other brands. Once a week is not bad at all but I would definitely recommend a protector. You can also just use a leave in conditioner. Be sure to use a good regular conditioner as well, and if you find your hair is being damaged try a hair mask.

Straightening is slightly damaging but the amount you do it, you'll be fine. Especially with a styling protector. And it's excellent that it's ceramic. Not ceramic could damage you hair more.

Is Straightening your hair bad?

Terrible! just TERRIBLE!

Is Straightening your hair bad?

Bumble and bumble makes a great product for protection; doesn't smell too good; but it works great.

What is japanese hair straightening?

i've never heard of this, can someone explain it to me? i've only heard of relaxing hair, and heat straightening.

What is japanese hair straightening?

Japanese hair straightening is a straightening process that is very advanced and causes hair little damage, compared to other straightening/relaxing processes. It's called "Japanese" hair straightening because the process was invented in Japan.

Here is an article about it: http://www.hairresources.com/page.asp?pa...

Can someone please recommend a good hair straightening shampoo?

I have quite wavy hair which looks lovely when I first blow-dry it in the morning but by mid morning, it looks like a bird's nest. I have used all sorts of straightening products which don't seem to work. Someone told me about a shampoo which is excellent for straightening hair but she couldn't remember the name of it. Can someone please help!!!

Can someone please recommend a good hair straightening shampoo?

Well your hair sounds very similar to mine. My straighteners died and I can't afford to replace them at the moment.

I bought some shampoo and conditioner that allow me to blow dry my hair on a fast speed and look as though I have spent ages dragging the brush through it to make it smooth and sleek. This is virtually unheard of for my hair.

The miracle in a bottle is not a designer brand, nor is it designed for straightening hair, but it is fab, it is called................................

HERBAL ESSENCE FRUIT FUSION SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER (PURPLE BOTTLES).

It makes my hair so smooth and shiny and it smells gorgeous.

You can try it, it is cheap as chips, so even if not right for you no harm done.

Can someone please recommend a good hair straightening shampoo?

john freida is good, n also frizz eez serum is also good. and a really good set of ghd 's help

Can someone please recommend a good hair straightening shampoo?

There is a great Paul Mitchell shampoo and cond. Its called straight and sleek...i buy it at my hairdressers (i also use my GHD straightners tho my hairs quite frizzy but the shampoo has made it MUCH better!)

Can someone please recommend a good hair straightening shampoo?

frizz ease by john frieda, paul mitchell, or marc anthony

i have also heard samy is a cheap good alternative to those, but i don't how true that is as i haven't tried it ..

Can someone please recommend a good hair straightening shampoo?

Use a straightening iron and some serum.

Can someone please recommend a good hair straightening shampoo?

Can't remember exactly what it's called-something very obvious like 'straight and sleek' and it's by Gianni Umberto;think that's the right spelling; It works well and smells fab. Good luck.

Can someone please recommend a good hair straightening shampoo?

um herble essences

Can someone please recommend a good hair straightening shampoo?

For a permanent fix, try Boots straighten, based on the Yuko hair straightening system, its only 14.99. I tried it the other day and it works a treat, it didn't dry my hair out at all, I would definitely recommend it. Look on the website for a proper explanation. It took me and my mum 2 and a half hours to do. Good Luck!

Can someone please recommend a good hair straightening shampoo?

Salon brands are always the best - Redken do a great range of shampoo's %26amp; conditioners for all hair types. They also stock styling products suitable for straightening hair %26amp; protect from damaging heat of hair dryer %26amp; straightners: http://www.redken.com/

For a good hair straightner try the ghd: http://www.beautysleuth.co.uk/product_in...

Can someone please recommend a good hair straightening shampoo?

LEE STAFFORD straight range available at boots!! the dehumidifier is great 2!!

Can someone please recommend a good hair straightening shampoo?

Elvieve smooth and sleek I think its called, pink bottle. I have to use straighteners every day but if I'm going on a night out I use this shampoo and it makes my job so much easier.

What are some hair straightening shampoo's and/or conditioners that I could find in a store?

I have always seen the hair straightening shampoo's/conditioners online like Theraphy-M Super Straightener but I can't seem to find a store that sells them. I was wondering what other brands I'd find in a store like Target, Wal-Mart, you know. If not, can I find them in almost every beauty salon/store?

What are some hair straightening shampoo's and/or conditioners that I could find in a store?

Sometimes available and Target and Walmart:

TIGI Bed Head Control Freak Shampoo

Sexy Hair Straight Sexy Shampoo

Almost always available and Target and Walmart:

Frizz Ease Straight Ahead Style-Starting Daily Shampoo

EDIT: Also if you just want the cheap stuff, almost all shampoos companies make straightening shampoos. (eg. sunsilk, pantene, herbal essences, garnier fructis, even sauve...but don't get that that sucks)

What are some hair straightening shampoo's and/or conditioners that I could find in a store?

There's a relatively cheap kind called 'Hairpy' by the company Sunsilk. They sell stuff for all different kinds of hair...

What are some hair straightening shampoo's and/or conditioners that I could find in a store?

theres a brnad called john frida...i think thats how u spell it or john freda..hmm...not sure..anyways get the 1 that say to have straight hair...and theres dif. steps.....like the conditionor shampoo and leave in conditioner.........and stuuf get all the steps 4 straight hair.....and i've tried it and it actually kinda works

Straightening angled and layered hair? (pic included)?

my hair is cut sort of like these two pictures.

http://photobucket.com/mediadetail/?medi...

http://photobucket.com/mediadetail/?medi...

It's cut more like the second one but has the thickness more of the first one. But i wanted to know how to get my hair to be styled like the second one how it like curves in and has those waves. When my hair is straightened the thickness is between the two so how can i style it like the second. I have asked about this before but i haven't gotten any clear answers that acually helped. I figured that the second one is probably extensions but is there a way to do it?

And no I am not like obsessed with hannabeth or scene I just really like the way it's styled.

Straightening angled and layered hair? (pic included)?

go to a locally owned fancy hair salon and they will probably know what to do. its definately possible with the right cut and some mousse

Happy 2008

Straightening angled and layered hair? (pic included)?

i have a similar style too... with ur thickness, i dont think u ought to straighten it... thick rich hair is beautiful... just use a round bristled brush while drying ur hair after a wash...

Straightening angled and layered hair? (pic included)?

i have really think hair too, and it makes it a bit harder gettin your hair like the second picture but it isnt impossible

right when your straightening it, just before you reach the last couple of inches flick you straightners out so that you hair flicks out and it will get curls at the ends

hope this helps

Straightening angled and layered hair? (pic included)?

okay get ready for this:

my hair is pretty much like that.

you need to put all the rest of your hair in a really high bun/ponytail. i usually do the very last layer of my hair first. this is the smallest layer and take your time when you are straightning it.

keep doing this. once you get to the parts you want curled under carefully curl the straightner. if you curl it too much it will crimp your hair. so strighten it down to the bottom then come in.

this woorks for me, and i have really thick hair. so it should work for you

:)

please choose a best answer

Looking for a non alcohol - hair straightening product with humidity lockout & heat styling prot

i am looking for a recommedation on a non alcohol - hair straightening product with humidity lockout %26amp; heat styling protection. Alcohol is said to dry hair out. My hair is dry enough......

Looking for a non alcohol - hair straightening product with humidity lockout %26amp; heat styling protection?

redkin has some good line of hair products and they don't have alcohol in them. Hot sexy hair also has great products for hair straightening products. Don't get Paul Michell though they have alcohol in them. Good luck i have very fuzzy hair and these products are worth the price.

Looking for a non alcohol - hair straightening product with humidity lockout %26amp; heat styling protection?

could you be more specific???????

Straightening gels, straightening balms, Hair wax?

Hi...Okay, i recently read on the internet that a straightening gel is very damaging to hair. and so are straightening balms, and hair wax. pretty much anything that is supposed to straighten your hair. I just bought a straightening shampoo and conditioner, and a straightening balm...and a straightening cream thing. are these things really gonna damage my hair?

Straightening gels, straightening balms, Hair wax?

They won't hurt your hair unless the straightening creams are actually acid in a bottle. They help your hair to be shinier, sleeker and much more beautiful. So don't worry, nothing bad will come from using a helpful straightening cream.

Straightening gels, straightening balms, Hair wax?

What brand is it? Some straightening products are great, others totally suck. If you bought yours at a salon or beauty supply store then they're probably good quality...

Chemically straightening your hair...?

so i was thinking about getting my hair chemically straightened. but is it safe? does it make your hair thinner? how many times would i have to get it straightened?

Chemically straightening your hair...?

I don't think Chemically straightening really works too good(Least it didn't for me)...But anything you do that involved chemicals on your hair isn't good for it..But it won't make it thin.

Chemically straightening your hair...?

dont do it yull miss youre old hair!

it makes it frizzy because you haev to do it 2ice ayear

Where to get permanent hair straightening?

i wanted to know which salons in the plano-dallas (texas) areas offer the permanent hair straightening treatment??? also, about how much would it cost at these places--- my hair is thick, wavy, and goes about 2 inches below my shoulder

Where to get permanent hair straightening?

Didn't know there was permanent hair straightening. But if I were you, I wouldn't do it, because your hair sounds lovely and you can straighten it sometimes but having it like that all the time could be boring.

Where to get permanent hair straightening?

My hair is thick and wavy also. I thought about permanently straightening it. NO. Let it do what it naturally does well. And when you get it permanently straightnened they use these really smelly chemicals, and after a while, your hair will start to break, dry up, and get really oily. And then it'll look like crap. Try some scrunching mousse it would be really pretty. Curly or wavy thick hair is beauitful. Just let it do what it naturally does. You will regret it. I hope i helped!

Wash hair before straightening?

I have fine, dry, hair with random waves in it-Should I wash my hair the night before and straighten it in the morning or wash it in the morning and straighten it while its still damp? Which way will give me the longer lasting stragihtness?

Wash hair before straightening?

Hey sweetie. I've been straightening my hair for 3 years now and I have a hair stylist also. Do NOT straighten your hair wet. When I get my hair done she washes it, blow drys it, uses Chi Silk Infusion on it and then uses a Chi flat iron. The flat iron is anywhere between 120-200 dollars depending on where you go and they have different colors and stuff. And the Silk Infusion is about 12 dollars for a small bottle. It's expensive but it works and keeps your hair looking and feeling smooth and healthy. =]

Wash hair before straightening?

Don't wash then straighten, it'll damage your hair. I wash mine at night, let it dry, and straighten at night. Then the next moring I just go over it real quick.

Wash hair before straightening?

You really shouldnt straighten wet hair with an electrical device. Maybe when its dry its better.

Wash hair before straightening?

wash it the night before and straighten in the morning. Keep your hair in a loose braid after you wash it so it will be slightly damp when you straighten it.

Wash hair before straightening?

Do not wash your hair the day of. You need the natural oils in your hair before a harsh chemical treatment. they help reduce the damaging affects.

Wash hair before straightening?

The way that will last longer is if you wash it in the morning and then straighten it after you have blow dried it. Use some kind of frizzy hair gel stuff, and it will help you to straighten your wavy hair and make it last longer. I think the gel is BED HEAD.

Wash hair before straightening?

Try washing your hair and than blow drying it before you straighten. But whatever you do DO NOT straighten your hair while it is still wet. This will cause major damage to your hair. If you wash your hair at night, blow dry it first and then straighten it. Than straighten it again in the morning. Try that and see if it works.

Wash hair before straightening?

wash when dry

Wash hair before straightening?

was it at night and put on conditioner and overnight then in the morning blow bry it a lil just to get the heat on the hair then straighten it and blow it one last time after its all straightened thats what works for me so i hope it will work for you!

Wash hair before straightening?

You should wash your hair the night before, and leave in whatever you usually use for your hair. Let it dry over night and straighten it in the morning. If you straighten it when it's damp it will dry and damage your hair.

Wash hair before straightening?

THEIR IS THIES PRODUCT AT SALLYS BEAUTY SALLON ITS FOR WHEN U USE A STREIGHTNER ITUR HAIR WONT GET DAMAGE BUT YOU SHOULD TAKE A SHOWER AT NIGHT OR IN THE AFTERNOON AND LET IT DRY AND THEN STREIGHTEN IT AND IN THE MORINIG GIVE IT A NOTHER PAS

Wash hair before straightening?

Wash your hair then you MUST apply a serum to protect your hair from heat. Towel dry your hair wait a few hours before you straighten or you can use a blow dryer and use the cool air instead of hot air because hot air will make your hair more dry and dead. You need to ALWAYS use a serum to protect hair from over drying. Like garnier fructis sleek and shine, Paul mitchell silky smooth serum, or biosilk smoothing serum. They all work great and I've used them all. You want to blowdry and leave it a little damp. Your hair will straighten better this way. Think of ironing a shirt and when we use the steam part and wet and iron it flattens better and faster. I was told to never straighten hair when it's all dry that way kills your hair more and your hair becomes more fragile.

Wash hair before straightening?

My hairdresser says that the single worst thing you can do to your hair is use a flat iron on wet or damp hair. I always wash my hair in the morning, so I have to dry it before I straighten it. I have thick hair, but the trick I use is to wrap it in a towel for at least five minutes, and then air dry it for five more. Then I blow dry it, and it doesn't take that long. It seems like a long process, but it isn't really.

Wash hair before straightening?

The worst thing you can do to your hair is wash and then right after use a flat iron. Dont ever do that. You dont know how much i have damaged my hair from that. Dont ever try doing that. Always wash your hair at night and straighten i nteh morning. It will give you better results because your hairstyle will last longer. But if you absolutely have to wash it in the morning, then make sure its dry before you straighten.

Can you get japanese hair straightening on hair that has been dyed?

If not, how long do you have to wait after the dye job until you can get the japanese hair straightening?

Can you get japanese hair straightening on hair that has been dyed?

i think you should wait till the dye gets a lil warn out. then do the hair straightening.

because i dyed my hair %26amp;%26amp; then did the straightening thing too. and it burnt off a whole CHUNK of my hair, cuhz of the chemicals, and it took for ever to grow back out. so i suggest you wait.

Question about hair straightening?

Any tips on how to Kepp my hair straight after straightening it? Becuase every time i do the ends curve upwars.

Question about hair straightening?

if it usually curves out and up, try making the ends curl under a little while you straighten it. if they curve inwards (like mine always do), then straighten it so you have a very subtle flip to the outside. as they lose their straight-ness and would normally curve under, then they just go straight. same for if they naturally curve outwards, then they'll fall to straight.

once you finish straightening your hair, then comb it all. straighten the ends as necessary until you get it as straight as you want. do a subtle flip in whatever direction you need, and you'll be good to go.

Question about hair straightening?

hairspray or gel.

dress in layers because if you are over heated then your hair will flip due to humidity. hope i helped.

Question about hair straightening?

if you use a straightening gell before you straigten it that works for me.

Question about hair straightening?

You could try a shampoo that helps your help to get straight, then it will stay straight for a longer time. Try using Pantene!! it is really good and it smells amazing!!

i hope i could help!! :]

Question about hair straightening?

get out of the shower and let it air dry then use VO5 hair straightening serum im not sure the exact name but its heat safe or whatever and comes in a red bottle use that all over your hair before you straighten it then straighten away works like magic your hair WONT curl at all well shouldnt mine never does after using this but before it did

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument abo

No one will ever "turn black" by gettin' golden from sun-bathing. And no one will ever "turn white" from hair-straightening treatments.

And, for crying out loud, neither will ever get anyone accepted by either "black" culture or "white" culture. A black woman with straight hair is surely NOT going to get a "white ticket". And a white women can't be a "sista" simply by roasting in the sun. Nope, neither is going to happen... So why do we go on and on about "whites tan to be black" and "blacks straighten to be white"?

Why are we stuck in such a stupid rut? Why can't we just stop BS arguments like this and accept that people are just people who do things because, duh, they want to do things?

What's wrong with us? Why can't we accept each other?

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

some people just don't get it. i understand completely what you're saying.

yea uh, people don't simply "do things". we're all influenced by something. but you [someone above] are not getting what this person is asking and saying. anybody with common sense should be able to see that she isn't claiming that people don't try to be something they're not. after all, that's exactly what you're doing when you alter your appearance [you're changing yourself to have traits that you didn't have before]. uh, hellllo! that's not the point. the whole point of the question is to ask why people think black women straighten "to be white" and white women tan "to be black".

and excuse me, but anyone with a brain knows racism is why perms became popular. that's not the issue here. the issue is why are we still making these accusations? and it mostly isn't the white people doing it anymore. we're doing it to ourselves. the majority of white society has accepted "ethnic" hair and whatever people want to do with it. we, black people, are the ones who are turning gray over this nonsense. why? correct me if i'm wrong, Action, but i think what i'm saying is sort of where you were going with this question.

and yes the curly hair arguement does make sense. do you see any whites accusing each other of trying to be black just because they get curls in their hair, or any black people either? no. no one accuses the white people of this, and that's what i think she's trying to say [that for some reason people are stuck on making hair accusations to black women just like they're stuck on making accusations about tanning to white women].

i sure am glad that at least SOME people understand what you [asker] are saying.

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

Obviously nobody looked at the link... Blacks are constantly sold the same image, still today. All the images you see of perm boxes are of less ethnic women. Not only with straighter hair, but lighter skin. It's embedded in African American culture. Report It

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

The "White Image" of beauty is constantly being sold to them and they are BUYING into it. It's not the same as the tanning example OR the curly perm example because white women have never been asked to assimilate. What would they be assimilating to? Report It

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

I understand the argument, but if you don't look at the history of perms and how litte the images of American beauty has changed, you will see that you cannot compare perms to tanning, at all. It doesn't make sense. period. Report It

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

However, let me note that i does not have to be a conscious decision, but iis still the harsh reality of African American culture:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=17f...

Not the best example, but you get the point, right Report It

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

By the way, your arguement is extremely is simple minded. Try looking at African American advertising in a historical context, it'll add more depth to your argument. Report It

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

we cannot accept ourselves.

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

because people are looking for something to argue about. your right about this %26amp; its not only BS but its childish. this is why other contries look down upon us do to this childish high standards %26amp; the pity raicsim still going around. but im black %26amp; i dont like my hair being curly when its long, honestly i dont know where that statement about trying to be white came from but that is just plain ignorant. if i have my afro out thats sumthing different then me wantin my hair straight for a new style. come on now people

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

People like to nit pick over every little thing.

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

I completely agree with you. Who cares?? But I can say that I'm sick of hearing black people on here say that white people are trying to look more "black".LOL...I always laugh my a*s off when I hear that. Because last time I checked, black women are not and never have been considered the standard of beauty...sorry. Unless we are speaking of the wiggers. That's a whole other issue. Yes they are sad, pathetic, posers of which neither race respects.

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

#24-Black women are beautiful no matter what these white folks say. Yes a standard of beauty created by white folks for white folks. To hell with their standard of beauty. Beauty comes in many shades and shapes. Sad enough white people don't accept other forms of beauty, other than their own.

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

i have no idea personally i find it rather amusing. the lengths folks will go to prove that they have nothing in common with this group or that never ceases to amaze. it seems that humanity and logic have never made good bed-fellows so if for nothing else i might as well get a good laugh out of it now

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

Yeah... people tend to make mountains out of molehills. People just do things because, in general, we all want what we can't have. I don't think it's necessarily a black or white thing either... Redheads want to be blonde, curly-haired people want to straighten, chubby girls want to be thin, thin girls want curves... the list goes on. It's just human nature...

I agree with you that people should not judge others and act like someone's going to lose their ethnicity over a change like that

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

People don't simply "do things". There is a reason why people want to tan and why people want to relax their hair. And there is a reason why it's popular, and much of it is emulating something that you are not.

Personally, I don't know why tanning became popular, but I do know that perms became popular due to racism and assimilation. Which is why rejection of assimilation came in style with the Afro and Black Power/Black is Beautiful Mov't, and why some black Americans choose not to relax their hair. However, I believe relaxers are so embedded in African American culture that it's not simply a "desire" to look less ethnic. But that's where the argument stands...

Your curly hair arguement doesn't make sense.

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

LOL!

very well said :)

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

You make some valid points. As for Linda B., Obviously, you have not been very many places or seen very many people. Beauty exists in all races. It is most narrow minded and superficial to suggest that there is one measuring stick that defines beauty the world over.

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

It's really sad.

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

It's because some people have no lives and are willing to complain over anything. I don't know why this topic is even mentioned anymore.

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

what? my friends black daughter straightens her hair because she doesn't like her curls not to be white. And why would people tan so they can be black? You need some professional help and soon.

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

I never did understand that how tanning was synonymous with "wanting to be black." when I heard that on here, I was very amused. I wasn't surprised that black people would claim that.

"White" sun-tanning vs. "black" hair-straightening- Why is there an argument about the two?

agree with ceasarmo....

Does anyone know any secrets to hair straightening?

I have been straightening every day for the past 2 years of my life, and cannot live without my hair straightener. I'm afraid to get my hair Japanese Straightened too. I have wavy-curly hair that frizzes easily.

Does anyone know any secrets to hair straightening?

use something to protect hair from heat before and after blow drying straight.

flat iron methodically from nape to crown and sides.

comb thru scalp area, apply flat iron and pull down the hairshaft together slowly.

do not use anything with glycerine in it!(will make it more frizzy)

GOOD GIRL for not getting the japanese straightening thing done.

Does anyone know any secrets to hair straightening?

blowdry it using that thermasilk stuff because if you keep staighting it youll get spit ends

Does anyone know any secrets to hair straightening?

I use a large round boars head brush because it grips the hair better (less drying time), also I use Tony and Guy Bed Head in the green can but you can use any over the counter product. The secret is the boars head large round brush.

Does anyone know any secrets to hair straightening?

put some light oil on your hair to keep it from damaging. then use whatever staightener you have. a chi is what i would recommend.

Does anyone know any secrets to hair straightening?

you should always try brushing it out straight with a rectangular brush with wide bristles after towel drying your hair, and it's like, 60-70 % dry, minimum, or else it could break. Blow dry it straight with the comb and a good hairdryer (Conar is good). Then, use a flat iron and slowly go down with it, in a straight motion, you know what to do then!! So, -

Does anyone know any secrets to hair straightening?

Use some kind of product or your hair will get fried. Do small sections at a time.

Does anyone know any secrets to hair straightening?

If you can find it, get Matrix's "sleek look lock in system". I get mine from my salon, and it is like 12 bucks. Spritz it on before you straighten your hair. it locks out moisture better than any other product that I have ever tried (and believe me, I've tried almost all of them!!!). Your hair will steam and smell funny for a minute, but that's just the system doing it's thing. to keep it really straight for 2 or 3 days, I do it one day, and the next few days, instead of getting it wet and washing it, I put baby powder on it to keep it from getting oily.

Does anyone know any secrets to hair straightening?

just before you iron it, spray a little oil sheen in your hair, not a lot or it will literally fry your hair just a little, then when your done ironing it most of the oil sheen should be dried out, just spray n a little bit more and brush through and smooth out. dont use too much oil sheen, or your hair will b nasty greasy. your hair will be silky smooth and beautiful if you do it right tho.

Has anyone ever had Brazilian Hair straightening?

I have curly hair, its thick, but a little shorter than shoulder length. much like this http://www.virtualhaircare.com/images/Ha...

I was told that I shouldnt do Japanese straightening because my hair is dyed blonde.

It this like a perm? which will permanently kill my curls? I dont want that.

How much does this typically cost?

Is it as much as Japanese straightening?

Has anyone ever had Brazilian Hair straightening?

OMG please read this answer!

i JUST got my hair brazilian straightened, and i have very thick slightly curly hair.

i got side bangs and i got it angled (i never thought i could get side bangs since my hair is so curly and thick i never thought it would look good, BUT NOW I CAN GET SIDE BANGS AND I DID! it looks great!!!!)

k, it costed me 400 dollars, but my hair is a little below my shoulders and its probably thicker than yours so since your hair is shorter it will probably cost you less.

it took about 4 hours, but again its because of the length and thickness of my hair.

DO NOT get japanese straighteneing! when it eventually starts to go away after a year, it grows out slowly, and it grows so that the top part of your head is back to normal whilst the perfectly straight part of ur hair is at the bottom. picture curly on top, straight on bottom. it looks horrible and i've seen girls in my school w/ that problem.

brazilian straightening costs less, takes less time, and it lasts about 3-4 months. it also DOESNT grow out like japanesse straightening. it just washes out in literally 3 days! not even kidding! i couldnt believe it until i saw other ppl who got it done and its true!

japanese straightening is much more expensive.

and NO it will not kill ur curls at all (i was a little bit worried about it too). yourr hair will be back to normal in 3-4months

it is nothing like a perm.

and u can get it even if your hair has gone other chemical dyes etc.

PLEASE get it done it is really worth the money and im so glad i got it done!

Has anyone ever had Brazilian Hair straightening?

my sister did a french thing it didn't use any chemicals i think, and i know some people who did Brazilian ,, but I'm not sure about them,, when my sister did it it was really straight for about a week(like really really straight) now like 2 months later its just lightly curly. and it didn't ruin her hair.

Straighter hair without straightening iron?

Are there any products out there (shampoos, serums, etc) that will straighten out my hair a bit (make it look smooth and shiny- not dry and wavy and frizzy). My hair looks awful if I don't straighten it with a hair straightener. But, I want a new alternative to a straightener - my hair is starting to break, etc.

Please suggest products I can get from target, cvs, walgreens, walmart, etc.

Straighter hair without straightening iron?

Try 'Dangerously Straight' from the Herbal Essences collection to start with. Also, Garnier Fructis has a "sleek and shine" line that works nicely.

when you dry your hair, use a boar bristle brush (google images it and you'll see)--that'll keep the flyaways and frizzies down and help straighten and smooth your hair out.

hope that helps!

Straighter hair without straightening iron?

uhh i think there is some at target or wally world.

maybe you could go to your hair cutter person and ask them to do it for you.

(straighten hair)

Straighter hair without straightening iron?

try aveda hang straight straighting lotion. It works for me. Good Luck!

Straighter hair without straightening iron?

there are no products that will just magically make you hair straight just by using them, they just provide a base for the styling to help it hold. What you can do as an alternative to a flat iron is to either blow-dry it straight with a large round brush, or roll it in very large velcro rollers to pull out the curl and friziness

How to style hair after straightening (MEN)? Gel, Wax, Paste, Gum?

Hey. Recently i bought a pair of small straighteners. I have 2 - 3 inches of hair that is shorter on the sides.

The past so many years i have gelled my hair using Bryllcream.

I invested in a pair of straighteners to experiment on different hairstyles. I like my hair spiked up with a fringe at the front.

My main question is..

After i have washed me hair, i blow dry, then straighten. My hair is very straight but needs styling. I know the style i want, but the problem comes to the products i should use. I have several gels and glues in a basket, all decent and expensive. I have tried wax and things but they leave my hair too light and fluffy, so i tend to use gel. The thing is how can i get my hair to stay straight after putting gel on?

I find as soon as i apply gel it looses its shape, and i just go back to the old messy look.

Can some1 give me some tips? Also, does it damage the straighteners if i straighten after the application of gel?

I want hardish hair. Perfect HAIR?

How to style hair after straightening (MEN)? Gel, Wax, Paste, Gum?

wax then hairspray super hold

How to style hair after straightening (MEN)? Gel, Wax, Paste, Gum?

If your hair is even the slightest bit textured (like someone who's had an African ancestor) you should only use gel if you want a controlled curl or wavy hair. Gel wets the hair and once it's wet, it will revert to curly. To get straight hair to stay in place, use hair spray or hair grease.

How to style hair after straightening (MEN)? Gel, Wax, Paste, Gum?

hardish hair is gross thats not what you want. you want american crew fiber it has little fibers in it to bulk up your hair and it stays pliable so you can adjust you hair throughout the day. you take a small amount in your hand and rub it around til your body heat warms it will soften it then apply

Hair/Bangs/Straightening Problem?

Okay, so my hair is like ew. I have bangs (that I cut myself last year) that kinda grew out. Then I dyed part of my hair pink for crazy hair day (permanently) thinking it would stay pink forever, but it changed to this ugly reddish color, which dried out my hair tons. So I went to the hair salon, got 3 inches chopped off, got some of the red out, highlights, and more layers. Because of the layers, She gave me more bangs. they start at about 1 1/2 inches and go to about 3 inches. I usually wear them side wept, but sometimes they just don't work. I have to straighten them because I have a really strong collic, but sometimes by straighter makes it too straight and it sticks out a little I think I can fix that be turning down the temp or the straightener, but I don't know. When I put it up (like in a ponytail) all my bangs fall down and it looks really weird. I can't clip it because they all very in length. I prefer to wear it down, though. Any advice?!

Hair/Bangs/Straightening Problem?

Well you have a tough situation. I think that because you cut your hair you should wear it down. Just because you wear it down doesn't mean you have to wear it one way. You can wear it straight, flipped up, etc. For your bangs soon it will get longer and reach your normal hair length. When you go running or something like that, then you can put it up it a pony tail, cause your exercising, who cares about your hair. Also keep your hair moisturized so your hair wont get dry.

Hair/Bangs/Straightening Problem?

well with the bangs instead of straightening them then just use a blowdrierto drie them and a paddle brush, it wont make them too tooo straight. try also to turn down the temp of your straightener. good luck

Hair/Bangs/Straightening Problem?

umm long story

umm well i dont really get your question but

since yoru straigthening them it will dry out your bangs eventually use these conditionar its called garnier Fruticis leave-in conditioning sleek and shine

its really good and a great brand i recomend it to everybody

It not only gets the tangles out it keeps it straight like a straighthener it smoothens itout and it WORKS which is very unusual with hair prosucts

and it wasn't too expensive either it was about $3-$4

Hope this was helpful! Hope your hair goes okay!hope the best fro you! Good Luck!1111111111111111

Hair/Bangs/Straightening Problem?

when you wake up take a moose and put it on the part of your bangs where your collick is. hold it down (as if it was without a collick) put a bobby pin where your finger is. go about your morning routine and once your bangs dry they should be wonderful.. i wouldnt straighten them though.

Hair/Bangs/Straightening Problem?

Too early to say but there is a product called Vigorol that was used to straighten hair and it contains formaldehyde. So far I haven't heard any casualities, except for extreme hair breakage.

IHR Permanent Hair Straightening?

Ive heard IHR permanent hair straightening causes less damage than yoko and the other famous brands - has anyone tried it and how much does it cost in the UK?

Thanks.

IHR Permanent Hair Straightening?

Hi. I've not heard of IRH straightening. However, I've had mine chemically straightened twice now and was very pleased with the results. I have shoulder length fine wavy hair. It lasted about 3-4 months. Before I had it done I made sure my hair was in good condition and conditioned it every day for a couple of weeks. Good luck !

IHR Permanent Hair Straightening?

cant say ive tried it but i can say that u can go 2 the hair salon and they do a treat ment that wil keep ur hair straight for a while

IHR Permanent Hair Straightening?

Personally I don't have much experience with these. I would recommend having a good old chat with you hair stylist, because, of course, it's irreversible once you've messed up your hair! Sorry I couldn't help much, best of luck, Princess Lola x

Can you curl your hair when you have the Japanese hair straightening?

ive had the japanese hair straightening done twice now and i love it! but i have my sweet 16 coming up and i wanted to have my hair done and have curls. will my hair curl? will it mess up the straightening afterwards? help please! thanks%26lt;3

Can you curl your hair when you have the Japanese hair straightening?

yes u can! just make sure it's not Right after u did the straightening. they tell u not to touch or put up or sleep on ur hair for like 3 days right? after u wait, and then wash it, then u can do anything u want to it. since ur hair is stick straight tho u probably need lots and lots of mousse and hairspray! then later when u wash ur hair again it should be straight again :)

Can you curl your hair when you have the Japanese hair straightening?

1. Yes, it will curl, BUT the curls will not hold as easily.

2.It will not mess up the straightening afterwards, it will go back to normal once washed.

hope this helps!

Can you curl your hair when you have the Japanese hair straightening?

Normally after a Japanese hair straightening you have to wait about 2 months just to color it. Personally, i wouldn't risk perming your hair, unless it's been about 6-8 months since you've had your last one done.

Can anyone suggest which is a better hair straightening product Schwarzkopf or loreal?

I have never done any chemical treatment of hair (like coloring straightening).. I have frizzy and dry hair. i want to go for hair straightening that gives straight and shiny hair without making it look dull.

Can anyone suggest which is a better hair straightening product Schwarzkopf or loreal?

Use Schwarzkopf anti-frizz hair serum. my girl uses that because she has naturally frizzy hair. Schwarzkopf anti-frizz hair serum is the best for it.

Can anyone suggest which is a better hair straightening product Schwarzkopf or loreal?

loreal

Can anyone suggest which is a better hair straightening product Schwarzkopf or loreal?

I like to use the straightening iron.

Can anyone suggest which is a better hair straightening product Schwarzkopf or loreal?

you better go for protein synthesis.. coz the straightning might giv u the luk till it is there but the quality of yr hair may worsen .. p[rotein synthesis will make yr hair shiny and full of lkife in yr original texture.. ask the person to check yr hair if they can take the chemical .. treatment for straightning../rebonding .. before doing it

Can anyone suggest which is a better hair straightening product Schwarzkopf or loreal?

Schwarzkopf and also try designLINE - get it pressed Flat Iron Spray

Can anyone suggest which is a better hair straightening product Schwarzkopf or loreal?

SWARPRA

Don't staighten your hair - worst thing for dry frizz -cos it will brake off

Try HENNA in clear wax conditioner style - best thing is!!

the smooth look is all smoke and mirrors unless you have very fine hair anyway!

Go with long braided hair to tame it into gentle waves - wash in pure soap made from OLIVE OIL dry NATURALLY if at all possible or wrap in a towel till just damp.

DO NOT brush out unless dry and very carefully only.

Wear hats and scarves in the sun.

Try Sunsilk if you can't get Olive oil soaps.

IStraight Japanese Thermal Hair Straightening?

Has anyone tried this newer and supposedly better iSraight thermal hair straightening system? If so, please post your opinion on your results. I'm really interested if you had damage, how much styling you have to do, how long it lasted, if you're able to curl your hair when you want to be curly, and so on.......THANKS!!! :)

IStraight Japanese Thermal Hair Straightening?

This straighter is the best on the market this is what I use in the salon. It is a 10 out of 10. It does minimal damage not more than any other. It comes out bone straight and no way to curl it again until it grows out. It takes about 2 hours for all the steps. Easy to manage might have a straighten some spots here and there in the morning but that is all. It last a long time. It is pretty expensive but you get what you pay for. Best way if you want straight hair.

Good Luck!!!

IStraight Japanese Thermal Hair Straightening?

you know...ive tried alot of those darn things..and none of them really work!! i think all people with straight hair want curly hair and vice versa...just accept ure hair and find ways to make it work for you.

hair straightenings best not done thermal but with a professional who'll give you a kit !! Yes I have tried them and they hurt my hair. sorry best of luck

IStraight Japanese Thermal Hair Straightening?

This particular straightening system I haven't heard of.

Be careful when going to your stylist for a straightening. There are two types a actual chemical straightener and a chemical relaxer.

A chemical relaxer does exactly that, it relaxes the curl. It does not straighten, hence the need for styling and still being able to curl later.

A chemical straightening does not allow for any kind of curl to ever be put back in.

A lot of stylist pass off chemical relaxers as straighteners and your end up dissatisfied with the results.

Good luck.

Hair dying after permanent straightening?

I'm getting my hair permanently straightened with that Yuko system pretty soon and I was wondering i anyone knew if it's alright to dye your hair afterwards. I'm going from my natural dirty blonde to a deep black with red highlights in the back. Would all these unnatural colours react badly with the way the hair s straightened and damage it excessively?

Hair dying after permanent straightening?

No, you actually don't want to color your hair until after you straighten it, because the straightening chemicals will take the color out of your hair. The only thing you really want to avoid is bleaching. As long as you are making your hair darker, you aren't going to be damaging as much. Get the stylist to use a demi-permanent color, or a very low volume peroxide with the permanent color (like a 10 vol) You should be fine as long as you only touch up the roots when you need them done instead of coloring from roots to ends every time.

Good Luck!

Hair dying after permanent straightening?

You should wait atleast two weeks before doing that to your hair. Anytime the hair is taken out of its natural state it tends to become fragile and will need a resting period before you do another service to it or you can end up losing your hair.

Hair dying after permanent straightening?

hey dude, i go tmine done 6mths ago. and i was told to wait about 3-6mths.BUt i would check with the hairsalon also.

Send me a foto of how it looks when u get it done.

Ive got black hair and some people love it and some are shocked.

right now im worried about receding hair form it or what to do about breakage.

Hair dying after permanent straightening?

You said you are "getting my hair permanently straightened..." so I'm assuming your are not doing it yourself but are going to a professsional to have it done. If this is the case, ask the professional their opinion. I personally think that it's not a good idea to do it for at least a week. Both straighteners and color are chemical processes and too many of these can trash your hair.

Which is less damaging for my wavy and brittle hair.. rebonding? hair relax? hair straightening?

just want a make-over.. but my hair is easily damaged with salon chemicals. do u have any suggestions?

Which is less damaging for my wavy and brittle hair.. rebonding? hair relax? hair straightening?

Go to a better salon and explain your feelings to them, I'm sure you're not the only one.

Which is less damaging for my wavy and brittle hair.. rebonding? hair relax? hair straightening?

id go either rebond or relax

What should I do with my hair everday?

I have curly/wavy hair side-swept bangs and layers in my hair. I just don't know what should I do with it after I take a shower and when I wake up what type of style should I do to my hair. I straighten my hair sometimes but the effect doesn't last long. Also my hair is thick, I use a straighteneing shampoo and a bunch of straightening stuff. So how should i regurally do my hair?

What should I do with my hair everday?

hey mariah,

don't worry i have the same problem like u have. but there are some ways which helps me. after i take shower i just let it be that way and when it is kind of dry i put some hair lotion. then i straithen it. well i don't do it the best because i know it is not going going to be perfect when i will sleep. so i just dfinish it up in the mornig.

for best tips go to seventeen.com and also go to ask.com and ask any questions u want. well that helped me i hope it will help u toooooo.

What should I do with my hair everday?

you could try curling it...pulling part of it back...casual updos...a low pony tail...a high pony tail...or put it in a high pony tail and curl the ends for a bouncy effect!!! you could just leave it down....try headbands or other accessories!

What should I do with my hair everday?

I think you should blow-dry it once you get out of the shower and then let it flow loosely because I am sure your wavy hair would look beautifully left down or with two pieces clipped in the back so it is half up and half down.

What should I do with my hair everday?

crunch it just use moose and crunch your hair it allways looks beautifull and to change it up clip your bangs back...then you will turn heads

What should I do with my hair everday?

if you want your hair straight, buy a chi.it may be expensive, but trust me they work no matter what your hair type is and it lasts until you get it wet. but if you just want a different style, get moose such as redken volumizing moose %26lt;-- what i use. and continuously scrunch your hair and it will bring out the curls and waves and look great for the summer and then all you have to do is just straighten your bangs.

What should I do with my hair everday?

I would get a good holding gel and scrunch your hair while blow drying with a hair dryer. I have very thick wavy hair as well. I do that whenever I dont feel like Straitning it or curling it. It looks really pretty and its an easy fix. good luck!

What should I do with my hair everday?

Try curling it or putting it in a loose bun.

What should I do with my hair everday?

Brown layered hair looks BEAUTIFUL in ringlets. Since you already have curly hair, you might think that you want to look different. You can occasionaly straighten your hair, but i think the curly is better! Besides, the job is already half done!

How do i get loose curls without having to straighten my hair?

i have no idea but u should ask a hair stylist

How do i get loose curls without having to straighten my hair?

Hot rollers. It will move the tighter curls out some.

How do i get loose curls without having to straighten my hair?

By using plastic rollers no gels no hairspray.

Get the jumbo rollers maybe 10to 15 packs. I think 8 rollers come in a pack.

Section off your hair. Place the roller at the tip of your hair and roll either vertically or horizontally to the scalp. . Or for looser curls just roll your hair halfway up.

What is the best chemical to use for the Japanese Hair Straightening?

I found a very reputable salon by me for the straightening and they offer liscio and chi straightening chemicals...which is better?

Stinky hair after straightening it, how can i make it smell better?

Hello everyone. I have really thick, wavy hair and I need to straighten it in order for it to be manageable. The problem is, after I shampoo and condition my hair.. my hair smells great! I am currently using VO5 and the conditioner is this lavendar scent and I love it! My straightener is one that has steam with it and after I straighten my hair, it stinks. I straighten my hair once a week and the smell stays the same all week. Anytime I let my hair down to comb it or to put it back up, I can smell that weird scent coming from my hair. It has to be because of the steam but I can't help that since the steam is what I need to make my hair straight. Does anyone know of some products whose scents can last through a steam session with a hot straightener? Or maybe, does anyone know of some products that I can apply to my hair after I straighten it that won't be greasy and that can be kept in my hair for a week?

Thanks in advance. Please, I will only accept appropriate answers as best answer

Stinky hair after straightening it, how can i make it smell better?

Whatever you do, do not spray perfume on your hair. The alcohol in perfume will damage your hair folicles. Try using a straightening cream from herbal essences. It smells good and does not add extra grease.

Stinky hair after straightening it, how can i make it smell better?

Well you could ethier get a better straightner [i suggsest a chi] or you could get a after straightning thing you put on your hair. it smells great!

Stinky hair after straightening it, how can i make it smell better?

switch to hot tools. its inexpensive and works well

Stinky hair after straightening it, how can i make it smell better?

Change you straightener. I'm sorry, but the smell is probably from your iron either burning the slight remnants of conditioner or your hair slightly. Chi gets way too hot, and Hot Tools are only coated with one layer of ceramic over metal. The FHI Platform is a great iron, with temperature control and solid ceramic/tourmaline plates. It has minerals fused into the plates (Titanium, Titanium Oxide, and Silver) That remove odor and bacteria, and help smooth it out.

Also, try Sabino Moisture block. It's the only product that will TRULY keep your hair from frizzing in humidity or rain, even swimming! And it smells ok. Just don't use too much ( a little goes a looong way ) or your hair will feel greasy.

P.S This iron will not damage your hair! I swear! My hair is bleached to within an inch of it's life, from permanent black dye, and with this iron and that product only, my hair never singes, burns, anything. Trust me.

Stinky hair after straightening it, how can i make it smell better?

well personally i have the same problem i just use luster's pink glosser

-lasting silky shine

-helps eliminate frizz

-leave your hair smelling great

I really recommend it

Stinky hair after straightening it, how can i make it smell better?

just spray perfum on your hair.....

Whats are some of the most ineffective hair straightening products?

NOT HAIR STRAIGHTENERS!!!

Whats are some of the most ineffective hair straightening products?

Do you mean effective or ineffective? I don't know why you'd want to know about ineffective ones, so I'll tell you my personal favorite *effective* product! I have naturally curly hair and I straighten it daily in sections with a blow dryer and round brush. When my hair is more or less dry I spray Rusk Thermal Str8 on each section and use the round brush and dryer a little more. It works so well that I barely use my dearly beloved CHI straightening iron anymore! It was recommended to me by my stylist and I am so glad to have found it! I don't use any special straightening shampoo, conditioner, or product other than the Rusk spray.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

Okay. I am a guy. I am 15 years old. 75% of people sterotype me as emo/scene/homosexual which is absurd. I wear "skinny jeans", band tees, hoodies, slip on Vans and I straighten my hair. Personally, I hate lables. It's as if I'm walking around with a label on my forehead.

How is it gay to want to have straight hair? How is it I'm a homosexual if I hate walking around with the feeling of excess denim flying around off my legs? HOW IS THAT GAY? Isn't homosexuality when you like the same gender of people as you? Since when are people classified with their sexuality in the way they dress, what music they listen to or if their hair covers their eyes?

And another news flash, half of you people that call people emo or scene have no clue what we really stand for. All of my friends are classified as emo/scene and everybody says we cut ourselves. Uhhh...I have never met anyone that cuts themselves. Stupid.

People that label are misinformed and stupid.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

don't pay attention to them

they have no life

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

You sound emo to me.......... how is that gay????

I don't know. Thats stupid if you ask me.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

give 'em heck

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

WTF. thats so not gay !! its just your style. i think its hot. dont care so much about what other people think.

[=

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

I would say you're more the artsy type or even metrosexual.

Get used to the labels honey. Wait until you're out in the real world...trust me....it gets worse. Just hold your head high and know the real you.

Now another point-you say you hate labels, but aren't you being a hypocrite by labeling people who label as misinformed and stupid?

Not an insult to you, just think about it. You seem like a smart guy.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

Stereotypes are stupid.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

They do not make you look gay but the make you look hand sum and tall and it dies straighten up your hair.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

they are just jealous ,its cool that you want to look good and take care of your self keep up the good work

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

Yer thats what happens with all these groupings the only thing you can do is either ignore them or flip the tables against them saying that their scared to not fall into a group

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

if you are every man in the 60s and 70s were also gay NOT

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

no ur not gay. ur perfectly normal. think of preppy guys that wear their golf looking outfits and their grandpa shoes. alot of them pluck their eyebrows. im glad to hear u dont cut urself or hang out with anybody who does. people are just hating....dont sweat it

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

Youre style doesnt sound "gay" it sounds more like rocker boy bandish. From your description of your clothes I get an image of the lead singer of Green Day (btw, I love him!) Don't worry about what others sterotype you as, you sound pretty okay to me. And besides, individualism is so way cool!!!!

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

Dude, your not gay. I completely agree with you. But people dont call me emo just cuz I wear eyeliner and my hair is always in my face. Trust me, me and my friends find guys like you a complete turn on. You are not gay. Your beast.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

actully i like that look on a guy i think its cute and don't let them bother you because they have nothing else in their sad lives but to make fun of other people to feel better about themselves

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

just ignore them people r always gonna say sumthn bout sum1 it cld also b possible dat they r jealous of u sumhow

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

I'm sorry, but what's your question? It sounds like you *do* claim to be "scene" or "emo" (I'm old, I don't know what those words mean) when you say "you people that call people emo or scene have no clue what _we_ really stand for" (emphasis mine).

So you're saying that the people who call you gay are mistaken and the people who call you emo or scene are right, but you don't respect their opinion because they don't understand you?

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

I have heard of emo but what is scene? Slip on Vans have been around for decades. They were for skaters in the 80's. Nothing to do with gayness.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

Keep being yourself, and stay above labels.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

It's what people do they put others into classes. It's been happening since mankind existed.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

dont worry bout what others think of u what matters is what u think of urself. They dont live ur life for u ,u live ur life and live it to the fullest if u can. I was the same way too ppl thought i was weird cuz I didnt dress like them or basically follow the crowd. Do what u want it will make u a happier person.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

Sounds to me like typical high school judgemental bull sht. Let me ask you something? Do you like your style of clothes? Do YOU like who you are? If you like yourself *%26amp;^% them. The wonderful thing I found out whwn I get to college is nobody knows or cares whether you were "in" or not. For the rest of your life you pick what youre "in" to.

People who have to judge others have usually poor self esteems (even if they are popular etc). Or else they wouldnt care what others wear.

Anyways - in short Be yourself and "bite" them. And unless youre dressing in drag forget the homosexual stuff.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

You've answered your own question.

If you want to be perceived as being manly, then don't dress like a gay. Whining on a message board won't help.

You're not going to be able to change what people think.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

Gosh, you sound just like my daughter, only male. She wears black skinny jeans, slip on vans and converse and she straightens her black long hair which covers her face. I know exactly how you feel. I would never consider you gay or anything remotely like that. It doesn't matter what clothes you wear or how you look, nothing like that makes you gay or any other which way. You can never judge a book by its cover. I've seen big butch builders open their mouth and sound like high-pitched nancy boys. We are all different, and I've learnt that whatever we look like, well it's our perrogative to look that way, we all have different tastes and it doesn't alter our personality or otherwise. :-)

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

You answered this your self,"misinformed%26amp; stupid". And I think you maybe just looking for attenchion, and your getting it!

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

When you're 15 it doesn't matter what you are wearing or how you fix your hair, kids are going to pick on you no matter what you do or what you look like. So be your self and ignore them and focus on your school work. When you react to what they are saying abut you it just makes them want to say more. Who cares what you look like now, if you do your best in school ( which is only a few years of your life ) then when you get out you will have WAY more opportunities than those kids that were picking on you.... You'll see at you 10 year high school reunion!

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

15 and being stereo typed by other teens your age is usually done by insecurity and being scared of what they don't understand. People alwayss lash out at others for what little knowledge they have of the aspect or the unknown. They also sometimes will self project there insecurity onto others making them feel better about there self. Just be you and don't let the world manipulate what they are afraid of. Keeping your mind open will alway open new ideas and possibilities/creativity.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

Some people have no better use with their time, other than to be homophobic.

Don't pay attention to them, but if they say something, remember that you are old enough to SUE them for slander.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

Yes, I know what you're talking about... See the Emo Scene became popular around 2001-2002 I think is when MTV and FUSE glamorized it to be more trendy, I could be wrong, but yea it's nothing new. It's been around the 80's, but it wasn't too mainstream yet or very popular.

I really hate the labels too, most people don't understand the History or the culture, and they always assume Fallout Boy is Emo when it is pop rock, and also in conjunction with My Chemcal Romance, almost everyone claims it to be Emo when it really isn't.

See? Not all Emo people are gay, and cut their wrists and jump off buildings... I have EMO friends and they are not like that! They are just normal people.

Suicide- It's kind of an Oxymoron to say that all EMO people cut themselves, when there are a million or more each year that commit suicide, and they aren't even EMO.

Tight Jeans- heh... that's nothing new, it's been around ever since the 80's.

Hair- EMO people have hair covering their eyes, that's nothing new either... My dad showed me a picture of his buddies back in high school that had that kind of hair.

So you see? A lot of people are just misinformed, and don't know about the truth... they have to do some research to really find out about EMO culture.

By the way, EMO is derived from Punk Rock, but with emotions... So if you make fun of EMO, you are making fun of Punk Rock.

A lot of people don't realize what they are dissing... LOL... I find that really funny.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

I think you are gay.... Why else would you want to LOOK gay/?

If I wore a dress and makeup, and people said I looked like a girl... I could get upset?

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

So gay.

I'm gay because I wear skinny jeans, slip on Vans and straighten my hair? Absurd?

from everything you described to me including your childish rant, it seems like you really are gay...
