i have VERY curly hair that breaks %26amp; takes hrs to comb. it doesn't respond to a flatiron so i havent seen it straight. i have the opportunity to get it permanently straightened. should i, because i'm not sure it will look good, but i cant deal with it as is?

As long as the hair doesn't look like it's sticking to your face, it's alright. Just make sure it's straight, and maybe go for some light waves too.

straighten your hair will make your face look fat [if you have round face] but if you know how to keep the volume for it, it'll look great.

Have you tried getting it flat ironed at a salon? Usually they have stronger flat irons that work better than the general store bought ones? I don't think straight or curly hair is what makes faces look chubby or not. It depends on the length of your hair. If you have a round face you don't want short hair- you want long so it makes your face appear longer.

Okay, what I'd do is go to a reputable hair salon and get an expert opinion. I would pay to get my hair blown out and see how I like it. It really is better if you test it before you do some permanent damage.

Also, I had the same problem straightening my hair, until I gave in and spent a $100+ on a SEDU straightening hair iron! Takes less than an hour to do now. Good luck!

If you would rather have straight hair, than you should. It sounds like to me that you aren't happy with the work that goes into curly hair. I wish I had naturally straight hair, but I don't anymore, because it is a lot less work. Now whether I think your face will look fatter, I don't know. Personally I don't think it will. But for people who have never met you, they would notice your face before they would your hair, as opposed to the VERY curly hair. Good luck with your decision.
