Hair breakage and falling out?

i used a bad flat iron to straighten my hair with NO protection for like 2 years. than my hair got thin, also prob cause i put a semi permanent hair dye in it 2. i used to have thick hair, plus my hair is naturally frizzy.. its wavy, but since its so frizzy, it looks like crap w/o anything. now its alot thinner, not like sickly thin, but much thinner than before. i cut it shorter, 2 regrow it, i have a chi straigthener and i use protection gel/spray that wrks good and i straighten it every once in a while, whenevr i straighten it , it looks good, AND when i wash it, not that much falls out. i mean some hair is gonna fall out, but not like tonns, normal u kno. but like wenever i wear it wavy/natural and put some gel/hairspray tonnss of hair falls out in the shower.. yet ppl tel me if i wanna regrow my hair that straightening is bad 4 it. i wear it in a clip w/ a bit of hairgel, but i lik wearin it down sometimes, so how should i wear it? wavy w/gel or straightner?

Hair breakage and falling out?

the reason you probably notice more hair fall out when you wash it when its wavy is that when the hair falls out when its wavy, its all looped around itself so it wont fall out onthe floor the couch wherever, only when you wash it or brush it those strands come out. when your straighten it, its silky so the strands slip out and fall out everywhere, no only in the shower, as they arent looped around eachother so it gives the illusion of less hairloss. neither process will cause baldness, only damage to your hair, as hair is dead, the only part that can make you bald is below your scalp, and you dont put gel or iron there, so anyone who tells you defferent is a liar. damaged hair breaks off short so the ends look this giving the illusion of hair loss, but it simply isnt the case. you can wear either, just be sure to ALWAYS use good protection and a good iron when wearing it straight. the curly gel look is less damaging, but if you straighten and use good hairproducts EVERYWHERE *conditioner is priceless to haircare* ironing often shouldnt be a problem. i iron my hair twice a week *only wash it twice a week* and its really healthy, its all about products. try skipping washes as much as possible. if it isnt dirty, dont wash it. of course wash it when its oily and smelly, but for most people that takes a few days to happen. youll notice a big difference in a few weeks by skipping the shampooing so often.

you can still have both hairstyles leave it natural and tie it up in a ponytail and on special occasions straighten it with your straighteners as long as you are using protection products there shouldn't be a problem anymore, every-bodies hair falls out i think it's about 100 strands a day so try not to worry.....

What iron are you using for your hair when you curl it?

Chi's are brilliant straighteners and that might be the reason when you use protection spray on it that your hair stays quite good.

Try using natural ways of achieving curly hair (ie. plaits, buns, scrunching...) it could make your hair look really nice and then you will have no problems about hair loss or anything.

If that doesn't work too well, try changing your hair curlers, to ceramic or professional.

Unless you're using your Chi's to curl your hair too, then the problem might be the fact when you curl your hair with straighteners it's pulls the hair quite a lot, and it dries out quicker than if you were to use curlers.

So either change your curling iron, or try natural ways of getting curly hair (:

if none of that works, go with straight hair, or have your hair done in a salon.

Good luck x
