What can I apply to my hair to protect it from getting damaged when I curl it with a curling iron. And which brand should I use?

If possible, is there anything that protects while also locking in the curls?

And I want to use a straightening iron too, what should I use to prepare my hair, or protect it from damage for this?

Btw, I'm asian with the typical fairly straight asian hair. I want to straighten it sometimes for the pin-straight look.

There's a product Redken makes called Satin Wear or something like that I believe. It's a little pricy, but it works wonderfully. You can also try products from Dove, Garnier Fructis, those sort of drug store brands that protect hair from heat damage.

water normally works okay for me, that's because the straightening iron i use is the ones that don't damage/burn your hair. Otherwise I like to use biosilk. Just apply a little bit of biosilk to your hair, and it protects it from getting damaged or burned.

I've been using this product called Vavoom by Matrix. Goodness, this stuff really is amazing. It's a heat protector, and it is the best I've used.

It leaves my hair shiny, and soft. When I curl my hair, which is quite often, it also eliminates frizz.
