What is the best Perm to straighten Hair?

My daughter (8), wants her hair straighted. She is bi-racial (blk/wht).

I would like to give her a Perm at home and don't have any clue which Product to buy.

What is the best Perm to straighten Hair?

relaxer is good and the just for me at most black hair stores but relaxer is better on black people's hair

for mixed hair wash it, let it towel dry and use a hot comb or a straightener

for white hair, wash, towel dry and use a curling iron for the cute curls. or blow dry and comb it at the same time for chique straight hair

it's probably best to leave it up to a salon. you should check out korean or japanese salons because they have this thing called "magic straight perm." it makes frizzy hair super shiny and straight, and is permanent until it grows out...

depending on her hair length, it could range about $100-$300 dollars

Don't!!! Take to a beautician. Get advice fron them. See what products they would use, then try at home. If money is an issue, try thr "Just For Me" perm, it is really mild. That is what we used on my 2yr old god-daughters hair.

they have "just for me" hair relaxer kits for kids. the instructions are in it.

instead of a relaxer, have you ever thought of just having her hair pressed? that would straighten it out too.

What is the best Perm to straighten Hair?

There are products made specifically for straightening hair.

If she wants it really straight that is your best bet.

There is also an option of doing a reverse perm. To do this you can use any perm just get very large rods to roll it with. The hair shapes to what its wrapped around.

Take care to do a small test patch on the childs skin to make sure she doesnt react badly to the chemicals used.

The ones used for both perms and straightening are quite harsh.

If you can afford it I would suggest you take her to a professional hairstylist.

good luck!

Have you ever tried a flat-iron? I have very coarse, thick hair. I would recommend a gold ceramic-plated flat iron. It works wonders! They aren't that expensive either- I use the Revlon flat iron with gold cermic plates and it works great.

If you don't want her to be bald then don't try perming her hair yourself especially at that age.

Get a straightening iron like a Sedu
