Straightening hair? will it damage my hair if i only flat iron it once?

uhmm i've never straightened my hair w/ a flat iron before, and i was wondering, if i do it only once for a day, will it damage my hair forever? i have wavy-ish(%26amp;maybe be a little dryish) hair.

because i only want to use it in a week--until i get my bangs fixed.

i got a 'trim'(the hair lady cut at least 2 more inches than i had asked), and she cut my bangs all wrong. so now i have to wait till next week to get them fixed. SO until then, i guess i have to straighten my hair to make it look better.

please help :]

The hair straighteners they make these days are fine!! Once you get your hair wet and it dries, it curls or waves right back up to how it was originally.

Also some people straighten their hair evvverry day and of course it does a little damage (it's a lot of heat!) when you do it THAT much but your hair would grow out before it even did any real damage so you are definitely fine with one or even a few more straightenings

you should be fine. I straighten my hair. as longas you use a low, appropriate heat setting, and condition your hair well, you shouldn't have any problems.

you will be ok. but if it becomes an addiction then thats where you will find the problem. just condition your hair with products or make your own. i recenlty read that it you blend avacado, egg yolks and a bit of water and put it in your hair, it is a great way to nourish dry hair
