How can my hair stay straight and not poof after straightening?

I have naturally curly hair. I straighen it about twice a week, so I don't want to get my hair relaxed. I have a good striaghtener and when I straighten my hair I can get it to be really straight. But the problem is that in the morning it's very humid so when I walk outside my hair gets poofy and slightly wavy. Are there any good products out there that can help my hair stay straight even when there's moisture in the air?

hey..i have REALLLLLLY curly hair too!!!.. what i do is i air dry it or u can blow dry it over and over again with a comb, but that would take a while!!

when i straighten it, i put so much product on it.. i split my hair in half and then apply each half with anti-frizz serum. When I'm done with that, i apply another kind of anti-frizz serum.. ( i have two) LOREAL, AND JOHN FRIEDA// straighten it like u would.. u might want to use a comb to help u straighten it.. and when ur done apply a straightening hairspray to top it off!!!

all i know is a light perm will keep it down. and some good advice for you is to stop putting so much heat on your head because your hair will start falling out. trust me i had a sister in the same situation.

lots of conditioner might help and pomade works on my wavy thick locks when straightening...although i can't let it go for more than a day, it feels greasy on top, and i don't like that. be lucky you dan't have to wash it everyday!!

Somtimes you just need to except that your hair is curly, if you use too much chemicals in your hair or straighten it too much you might damage it. Than you'll feel sad and rather have curly hair, than have damaged hair. You can straighten your hair for special occasions.

try using spray glace by joico. and if all else fales try and get ur hands on some really good pomade. and use these SPARINGLY... ur hair will look very greasy if u use too much. to avoid that dont use on scalp or at the roots.

Hi,

I wash my hair with Elive smooth intense, put frizz-ease straightening spray and Frizz-ease hair serum on my hair then blow dry it downwards and straight.

Then about 3 hours later I go to bed, wake up and have curly hair then I straighten it and walk to school, by the time I get to school its curly and frizzy.

Can you recomend a hairspray for my hair and how would you go about using it? (ie: spray before straightening?)

And can you use Frizz-ease hair serum on dry hair before straightening it or will it make it go greasy?

Have you got it trimmed for the past 2 weeks?

Because having un-cut hair makes the weight pile on causing your hair to go frizzy and curly

Get a haircut, a trim or whatever

Then use the same product you use now

They're fantastic tools

Buy abit of ultra hold hairspray and spray abit over your hair after its dry and straightened

Dont spray too much, do a little spriz

Then it will keep the frizz down for a day or so

dry your hair the night before +don't bother with any serums etc. straighten it as usual following morning and then rub a small amount of serum into palms of your hands and smooth over your hair once its dry + straight. this should stop any moisture getting into it. no point putting it on before you straighten it though.

Ok, the brand that works best for me is ICON. It's a bit expensive (a bit cheaper than Kerastase) but definitely worth it. First, I use a hair mascara that I try to leave in for at least an hour. After washing my hair I dry it a bit with a towel and then put a bit of mascara in my hands and extend it through every lock. After rising my hair again, I dry again with the towel and put some serum in it (I recommend ICON, Kerastase or Revlon), especially in the tips. I then dry it with a round hairbrush and then put a little bit of serum and shinning spray (doesn't make the hair greasy but leaves it very shinny. Again, I love Revlon or ICON). Good luck!

Anytime you use a straightener it can damage your hair but especially after a chemical service. DO NOT use it since you have permed hair now...Unless you want to end up with dull and dry hair or worse yet, broken pieces and split ends.

i have been perming my hair for about 16 years and straigting it to with the flat iron... if you keep your hair contitioned , moisturized, (greased if your black) your hair will be perfectly fine!! but do put on i think its called VO5 ( i dont kno what the product is called its self but i kno thats who makes it) and its to protect you hair from heat. styling your hair everyday wit a flatiron causes damage for sure.. but thats where wrapping your hair comes in!! any more questions e-mail me!!

When I straighten my hair it's smooth, sleek, and perfectly straight, but 5-10 minutes later it has waves and is no longer smooth and light like it was before. On certain days though it will remain nicer. How can I make my hair stay exactly the way it is right after I straighten it? Right now I use vo5 straighten up (which is a gel I put on right before straightening my hair and its supposed to keep hair STRAIGHT until the next wash) and I also use sunsilks straight hair cream. btw, I don't have curly or really wavy hair. It just gets waves at the bottom and when my hair is straightened it also is very sleek while when its wavy is sort of poofy and a bit frizzy.

use a good hairspray also to set it. Maybe go over it after you straighten it with the cold setting on your hair dryer. Also make sure your hair is COMPLETELY dry before you straighten. moisture contributes to your hair's attitude. If you are in a humid climate, it can't really be helped.

well.. my hair is naturally curly n i relaxed it twice to make it straight but it didn't work, however it made it easier to straighten. like i didn't blow dry, just straightened it at first cuz i didn't kno how to blow dry but then i learned and yeah it takes a while (i guess it depends on how long your hair is cuz w/shorter hair it doesnt take as much as long hair) but if you did have wet hair i would blow dry it even tho it might take longer.. at least if you have the patience.. and if your hair is dry i would also use a blowdrier for best results or you can get a really good straightener that straigten really fast. but before you straighten your hair you should put in like an iron-heat-protector which you can get at a salon or a leave in conditioner. good luck =)
