Mild chemical straightening?

I am going to get my hair chemically straightened, and I was wondering if there are different degrees like mild straightening and strong? Could i get mild and so it would be like straight but not SUPER straight?? just more relaxed?

thanks and please no opinions on chem. straightening. Thank you!!!

Mild chemical straightening?

There are definitely different levels of chemical relaxing. Make sure for your first time, have a professional or a student do it, so they have access to quality products that will work to the degree of relaxing you desire.

Mild chemical straightening?

i have to tell you this im sorry. i have the curliest hair in the world and i got it chemically relaxed. yes it helped but it also fried my hair so that i had frizzy and dead hair for months and months. but if there is some and your mind is set on it. get the least strong one.

How can I brighten my hair?

Well, I have my hair Japanese Straightened[it wears off in 3 months] and I'm looking to make it brighter. My stylist informed me that hair dye and the chemicals used in the straightening don't work together at all. Are there any ways that I can make my hair lighter[I'm blonde] without use of hair dye? I hear that Lemon Juice can severely damage and dry out your hair, so I don't know if that would work for me. ..Or are there possible hair dyes to use while my hair has the straightening chemicals in it?

All help is highly appreciated :]

How can I brighten my hair?

I had my hair highlighted blonde the day of getting the straigtening treatement...and it looked normal to me and everyone else. Getting color is different than highlights though, so I would listen to your stylist.

How can I brighten my hair?

www.lush.com

they have a hair product called marilyn i think, well anyways look for it. it makes the blonde hair brighter to a platinum. but it only works on blonde hair

How can I brighten my hair?

sun-in. thats the name of the brand, it makes ur hair lighter but not too light; u can get it at a drugstore just aska woman who works there, its just a light spray on thing. simple.

How can I brighten my hair?

maybe a glaze?? or lightening shampoo (like sheer blonde??)

How can I brighten my hair?

go to a beauty supply %26amp; purchase a hair booster it lifts the color of your hairbut its similar to a dye

I wanted to know a naturally way I could be able to straighten my hair whithout.....................

Using heating, or permanent stuff that will damage my hair..............what should I use???????????????....is it even true there's a shampoo that's makes it straight for like 10 hrs??? but anything naturally that will be able to straighten as natural as possible. ;)

I wanted to know a naturally way I could be able to straighten my hair whithout.....................?

There's no way to straighten your hair (naturally). Forever at least b/c the texture of your hair's in the DNA. There are products that relax curls--John Frieda makes a couple I think and I've heard of a product called Alterna that can change the molecular structure of your hair. (www.4alterna.com) :-)

I wanted to know a naturally way I could be able to straighten my hair whithout.....................?

i use a wet to dry hair straightener on my hair and it doesnt damage it.

I wanted to know a naturally way I could be able to straighten my hair whithout.....................?

The DNA/genetics you were born with rules how you will look and how your hair is. There is nothing on the market to naturally straighten hair. Your hair is going to do what it has been biologically programmed to do. The best thing you can do is style/cut it in the manner with which it wants to go. Work with your hair texture, and not against it. Otherwise you will need to use heating products ets. Good luck.

I wanted to know a naturally way I could be able to straighten my hair whithout.....................?

My hair is VERY curly, I use combo of John Frieda Relaxing Creme, a diffusing iconic blow dryer, and TONS of patients. Voila!... until I wash my hair again:)

I wanted to know a naturally way I could be able to straighten my hair whithout.....................?

Pantene silky straight. Dry in the fan, then use straightening iron or you could blow dry :-)

I wanted to know a naturally way I could be able to straighten my hair whithout.....................?

Well if you get a ceramic straightner it willn't damiage ur hair sorry if I not much help good luck

What can I do so my cowlick won't show when I straighten my hair?

I have a funky cowlick at the crown of my head and when I straighten my hair it looks like a bald spot. Please help

What can I do so my cowlick won't show when I straighten my hair?

Hiya.

All i can think of you doing, is try not to straiten it too much around that area.

With a hairdryer or difuser blow-dry that area to give it more of a boost the crown will not look so visable that way.

Good Luck x

Am I the only one who thinks it a bit odd that Al Sharpton has relaxed/straighten hair?

Black activist with non-african hair, seriously man?

Am I the only one who thinks it a bit odd that Al Sharpton has relaxed/straighten hair?

Ignorant, ignorant, ignorant.

People don't relax their hair to somehow become less black. It is a choice. Just as you may choose to dye your hair, tease it or whatever. A relaxer does not somehow make you less black!

Being black is not about the texture of your hair!!!

We can do whatever we want with our hair. If a white person puts braids or waves in their hair are they trying to be black or Hispanic? Of course not.

Am I the only one who thinks it a bit odd that Al Sharpton has relaxed/straighten hair?

HE DON'T LIKE HIS NAPPY HAIR!! HELL I don't know!!

How can he represent something that he don't like himself??

Am I the only one who thinks it a bit odd that Al Sharpton has relaxed/straighten hair?

just because his hair is straight doenst make him "non-african"...that was just an ignorant statement.

Am I the only one who thinks it a bit odd that Al Sharpton has relaxed/straighten hair?

he got mo money than you and can lend you some so you can finally put down some payment on that mobile trailer you call home

yaaa that is kinda weird....

mabey he has a gud hair stlyist

Am I the only one who thinks it a bit odd that Al Sharpton has relaxed/straighten hair?

hahahhaah lmfao - he think he a pimp - lol - wanna be like snoop dog - he got his own thing goin on like don king - dont nobody else wanna touch it - lmfao - you that man is a freak lmfao -

Am I the only one who thinks it a bit odd that Al Sharpton has relaxed/straighten hair?

Mr. Sharpton is doing his thing, his way! Why should you care?

Am I the only one who thinks it a bit odd that Al Sharpton has relaxed/straighten hair?

I think Al Sharpton is ODD. 2D

Am I the only one who thinks it a bit odd that Al Sharpton has relaxed/straighten hair?

his relaxed hair symbolizes a friendship between him and James Brown (he was James Brown' manager before he became activist) and besides the texture of his hair has nothing to do with his fight for equality

Straighten Men's Hair?

Hi. I always have my hair straightened when i have my hair cut with a pair of GHD slim (mens) hair straighteners. My hair is not long (longest parts are 2inches). My hair always look amazing after it is straightened so i decided to buy the straighteners my hair dresser uses but i find it really hard to use them. Any tips/suggestions?

Straighten Men's Hair?

Hi Tom,

I think that seperating your hair into sections works pretty well. Clip parts away from the part that you are straitening, go a little bit away from the roots and straiten as normal, do this over the whole head .

gOOD lUKC

Straighten Men's Hair?

hold the straighteners in the oposite hand from the side you are doing and place at the roots. Close them together and pull through your hair angling them downwards not to the side.

Straighten Men's Hair?

dont try and straighten to much at once. thats all i got

Straighten Men's Hair?

make sure your hair is dry and don't straigten too much at one time

Straighten Men's Hair?

try hanging your head upside down while you do it and use a very thin comb to do it a bit at a time.

Is using gel before straightening damaging for my hair? thanks?

I think straightening your hair in general is damaging.

If you're going to use gel, I suggest you look for one

that aids in protecting your hair from the heat.

But I don't remember seeing one... generally

a straightening serum would be good for your hair

but I doubt it'll give you the hold you want.

But yeah. Look for a product over the shelf :]

There are many of those in the salons and in the

special hair styling section in your grocery store or

the drug store.

When you straighten I suggest you use a ceramic

straightening iron :] It's muuucchhh better for your

hair.

Is using gel before straightening damaging for my hair? thanks?

I would put gel on after I straightened, but I have never tried this since my hair is naturally straight. I would think that the gel would get burned with the iron and could hurt the hair, plus, if you straightened first, then put gel on would make the hair stay straight.....not sure, but just a suggestion.

Why not try it the other way around, it might work better?? If not, you can always go back to gel then straighten?

Is using gel before straightening damaging for my hair? thanks?

no

Is using gel before straightening damaging for my hair? thanks?

proberly damanging your straighters more then your hair!...

Is using gel before straightening damaging for my hair? thanks?

i use a heat protector before straightening. Beyond the Zone makes "Turn up the Heat". Works real nice.

Go to a Salon and get it done for $20. Ask them how.

Use Paul Mitchel's Super Skinny Serum and the ceramic sraight iron also by Paum Mitchel on the hottest setting. Flat as a pancake!

How can i get my hair pin straight with out over straightening or burning my hair?

Try asking a hair stylist, they would know. I use ION hair straightening shampoo. I use a mousse (any type will do), I blow dry my hair. Once my hair is dry, I then use my hair iron (to flatten my hair).

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten

I have dark, short hair. It is extremely frizzy and dry. I've tried a lot of things, and nothing works! It takes me half an hour to straighten my hair, and it comes undone within a few hours. I live in hot, humid Georgia and that doesn't help either!

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

i absolutely love john freida products. get them at wal mart, you'll save a fortune. 1-frizz ease straight answer shampoo 2-frizz ease straight answer conditioner 3-hair syrum 4-straightening blow dry spray 5-finishing creme. this sounds like a lot of work, but it really isn't, i'm in the shower and out the door in only 30 minutes. i noticed a difference in my hair immediately; after only a week it was like i'd had a hair transplant, my hair was so dramatically changed. it's so shiny, straight, and manageable. my sister lives in another state, and the first time she saw my hair she could not stop talking about it and touching it and staring at me. which felt great!!!

one final note, i've found that with any hair care product, i need to alternate its use, otherwise eventually the product loses its effectiveness. so, i do three weeks with john frieda and then a week of herbal essences, then back to john frieda again. i do this with skin care products, too. it may sound strange but i think your body adjusts its ph levels if you use one set of products too long and then they don't work as well. good luck!!

As long as you reside in Georgia, you will continue to have this problem.....

I suggest moving.

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

Try a GHD! Its pretty expensive but it works really good and it lasts u the whole day!!! If you think its too expensive try a GHS! Just go to a salon and they will probably know whats best! Or u could dye it soo it doesn't look dull!

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

I would try going to a good salon and asking them to trim off some of the frizzy ends first, then thin out the rest of your hair so it is manageable. Hot oil treatments also do wonders for conditioning your hair. You can buy them at the drugstore and just pop them in some hot water for a couple of minutes. If your hair is really frizzy, do the hot oil treatments more frequently, like once a week. And make sure to always use conditioner and let it soak in. Hope this helps.

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

I love Suave Sleek Look shampoo and conditioner. Try that. Use LOTS of conditioner. And use the leave in conditioner after. And then use a good ceramic straightener. Some of the more expensive conair ones are good. And follow up with something like Herbal Essences Pin Straight hair spray or Aussie Instant Freeze.

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

You should get your hair cut into layers and make sure all the "dead" hair is cut. Make sure you use good shampoo and conditioner that moisturizes. Pantenne has some really good stuff like the restoratives collection. If you keep straightening your hair it will eventually start to stay but most people say you should work with your hair and not against it.

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

use a straightener and straightening serum it will add shine and it will stay straighter i dont know what to tell u in terms of the weather tho and trust me a half an hour 2 2 do your hair is NOTHING good luck

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

Try using Treseme conditioner and getting a perm or a special hair gel made just for that or ask a beauty salonist.

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

i have the same frizzy poof thing you describe. try a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. keep your hair trimmed regularly. use a polishing serum before you try to straighten it....the stuff is suposed to add shine. use a ceramic (vs metal) flat-iron

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

Have you tried curly hair? My hair used to be like that because I tried to straighten it but it just ended up curly and now I get so many compliments on it. If you hair is frizzy while it is curly or straight don't dry it with a towel use a cotton shirt or paper towels. Then use a anti-frizz gel (aussi's works great!)

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

I have the same type hair as you, but I'm letting mine grow out. I have found that pure virgin unrefined coconut oil works wonders for my hair. This is great for people with dry frizzy fuzzy hair.I use nutiva brand. I apply a little while my hair is damp and work through. As for getting it straight it also takes me awhile. That's why I'm growing it out. I'm tired of fighting with hair that doesn't want to be straight(I'm from Alabama) because of the humidity. Try playing up your curls and working with them. It's a lot easier than working against it. Good luck!

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

grow it out some mine is kinda like urs just lighter brown andi got it cut short and it puffed so now its like 5 in below my shoulder and is less puffy but still frizzish and wavy at the bottom

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

well i have super thick wavy hair and my hair is up to my shoulders and i live in vegas so it gets humid here too.what you have to do is go to a salon and ask them to thin out your hair with a razor.oh and buy a ceramic straightner the one i have is $100 but you can get less costly ceramic straightners. these straightners add shine and no FRIZZ all day.

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

You could color it - close to what your real hair color is. Or frost it. Use infusium 123 leave-in-treatment after you wash your hair - that will take care of the frizz all day. They even have straighteners that you can put on your hair but I've never tried them.

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

I have the same kind of hair you do and i just moved from a humid state first take a shower to get your hair wet then dry your hair but make sure it stays damp enough that you can straighten it. next get one of the straighteners that spray the water to keep it wet. the final step is to put gell in and let your hair dry.

p.s. make sure you don't put to much gell in.

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

i have the same hair as you.

i straighten it and it makes such a huge difference.

you should try using a ceramic iron to straighten ur hair.

I have thick, dull, wavy hair. Any suggestions to get rid of the poof, ad shine, and help straighten it?

I have the same problem. I get done washing my hair and its super thick very wavy and doesnt look like it has any shine. I have a solution! I condotion really well in the shower just so its easierto comb through, then when its dry apply a small dot of Citr'e Shine-shine miracle anti frizz serum ( its like 4 dollars at Wal-Mart) then straight iron it. After im done I put a tiny more amount of The serum and my hair looks great! I also dont shampoo everyday as it totally dries my hair out. Plus I dont like to straight iron my hair everyday because its also drying. I wait every 3 days or so (if you can stand it)

Good luck and im sure this will work for you!

Chemically straightening "afro-ish" white "tween's" hair?

I have a daughter whose hair is out of control. We have permed it (looks good but hard to manage), flat irons don't work real well her hair is still very puffy after (have tried it wet, dry, with gel without, with mousse, with hot ironing smoothing stuff, to no avail). Would a chemical straightener tame her hair? Also, with her age (verrry close but not quite hit puberty completely), would that have any effect on the chemicals?

Chemically straightening "afro-ish" white "tween's" hair?

I would go and get thermal reconditioning/straightening done. It's expensive, but her hair will stay straight until the roots come in. It shouldn't be affected by puberty either. I had TR (abbreviation...also a good search term for the web) done and my hair was pin straight. A good stylist will be able to do it on your girl's type hair.

Chemically straightening "afro-ish" white "tween's" hair?

I would consult a hairsylist with my daughter there that way you can get an accurate answer.

Have you tried a hot iron?

You might just have to spend that extra money for a good flat iron. You also may have gotten a flat iron that wasn't that great as fas as quality is concerned and that makes all the more difference.

Chemically straightening "afro-ish" white "tween's" hair?

Hormones will have some affect on her hair. It will likely change well into her twenties. Chemically straitening her hair will help to tame it but, it will mean taking care not to damage it. It will not make it very straight and you will still have to physically straighten it with something. A hair wrap will work well without doing a lot of damage. You cannot straighten hair that has been curled chemically with a permanent wave solution. A relaxer on this hair will cause it to melt. You need to know what type of curling solution is on her hair now. Even if it was done months ago, sever damage will occur if you use the wrong chemicals.

Chemically straightening "afro-ish" white "tween's" hair?

i not sure how thick her hair is, but you can go "old school" and use what most african-americans use in our hair. it is called a pressing comb and it will straighten the tightest hair in the world.

In the average, HOW MUCH DO THEY CHARGE IN A SALON TO PERMANENT STRAIGHTEN HAIR?

In the average, HOW MUCH DO THEY CHARGE IN A SALON TO PERMANENT STRAIGHTEN HAIR?

If you have really curly and it's not ethnic hair can you use a relaxer in it safely to straigh

I have medium lenght hair it's really curly and i would like it straightened. I've had perms before and they didn't work. I have dark brown hair and i'm of mexican back ground. My hair is a little dry. I haven't done anything to my hair in a very long time, it been years. I would just like to fix my hair just like the other girls my age. Will it damage my hair or make it fall out?

If you have really curly and it's not ethnic hair can you use a relaxer in it safely to straighten your hair?

I remember when I was in hair dressing school that you can use a perm solution. The same thing you would buy for a perm you can buy to straighten your hair aswell. When your hair is in rollers, you apply the solution and it makes your hair curly. Well you do the same thing to make your hair straight. You comb your hair with a small tooth comb straight and then put the solution in your hair and just keep on combing your hair straight until the time is up. This works because I tried it on a friend of mine and it's not expensive. You can buy it from the drugstore or your nearest beauty supply store. I would get a nice hair cut also to get rid of the dead ends and help your hair if its damaged. Also, you can buy a product to put in your hair to keep it from getting damaged from heat and just use a straightener. Then you can have the best of both worlds. I am a little confused though on the part where you said you hair is really curly and then you also said you have tried perms before. Did you try the perms to straighten it?

4 girlz: does straightening, or curling your hair damage it? what do you do/ use?

It does damage it a little, but as long as you protect it and don't blow dry, straighten/ curl excessively, it's doesn't affect anything. Make sure you use moisturizing shampoo and get a protective spray to put on your hair before you use any heat treatment on it.

4 girlz: does straightening, or curling your hair damage it? what do you do/ use?

Its not good for your hair but if you put some kind of heat protectant on it before you style your hair it can help protect it.

4 girlz: does straightening, or curling your hair damage it? what do you do/ use?

If you put a hot/curling iron in your head too much it will damage your hair ..... Aroung every 6 weeks you should put a relaxer in it (that white cream stuff)--- Every other week you should straighten you hair .... first wash it really good I recomend "Motions Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner, Hair Rebuilder, and Spray/Leave in Conditioner"

4 girlz: does straightening, or curling your hair damage it? what do you do/ use?

yes, there are products that minimize the damage though. . .like straightening balm. . .

4 girlz: does straightening, or curling your hair damage it? what do you do/ use?

it damages your hair.........but i do it anyway!!

i use anti frizz %26amp;%26amp; anti split ends serum

also i use........ got2b ----?? i 4get wut its called but its in a spray bottle thats orange and pink.

4 girlz: does straightening, or curling your hair damage it? what do you do/ use?

yes, if you use it everyday. i grease my hair and put conditioner in it so my hair won't dry out. dryness=damage

4 girlz: does straightening, or curling your hair damage it? what do you do/ use?

yeah, just a little. i stopped because it took too much time but before that i used a shampoo that helped relieve the damage. I can't remember the name but if you go to a drugstore or you go to drugstore.com than you can find a few others. hope this helped.

4 girlz: does straightening, or curling your hair damage it? what do you do/ use?

it is ok 2 do but not 24-7 .when curling it is best 2 use soft rollers and gel and sleep in them and it turns out great.straighting kind of burns ur hair and will make it extra dry.

4 girlz: does straightening, or curling your hair damage it? what do you do/ use?

i have alot of experience With this but always use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and Don't so it to much like 2 times a day is to much(at least for my head and i got hair down to my but an dim 5 foot 5 so yea...)i straitin my hair everyday but as long as you keep it Heathy and eat certin foods yo will never damage your hair

4 girlz: does straightening, or curling your hair damage it? what do you do/ use?

It does damage it. I flat iron my hair every 2-3 days and I can totally see my split ends. It burns your hair, so you really need to take care of it if you're going to straighten it. But I'm sure you can get different products that can help with the split ends. Just find what works best with your hair (ask your stylist). But I love my flat iron :)

4 girlz: does straightening, or curling your hair damage it? what do you do/ use?

it does damage go to Sallys buy Beyond The Zone Turn Up The Heat Protection Spray and use the GVP 1" Ceramic Flat Iron: Compare to Farouk CHI Original - its half the price of a CHI and works GREAT!!!

for treatment i use TIGI chocolate head and TIGI peppermint hair mask - use once a week for 5 min since its pure protien

How do I get that nasty smell out of my hair after I straighten my hair?

When you straighten your hair; you get this nasty smell in your hair, like burned stuff.

How do I prevent that smell?

How do I get that nasty smell out of my hair after I straighten my hair?

use chi iron guard, you would think i am a spokes person, but it works, makesyour hair smell nice and protects it from burning

How do I get that nasty smell out of my hair after I straighten my hair?

do you straighten it when its still wet? that might be why it smells because thats never happened to me. id always make sure your hair is 100% dry before straightening it. it can be really damaging to the hair not to do so.

How do I get that nasty smell out of my hair after I straighten my hair?

Get a new flat iron. Mine does not make my hair smell. To fix the problem once it happens though, spray some perfume on your hairbrush and brush it through your hair. Not too much, just a squirt or two.

How do I get that nasty smell out of my hair after I straighten my hair?

I have never had a smell after i straighten my hair but try to use a light sentented spray before you fix your hair

How do I get that nasty smell out of my hair after I straighten my hair?

I kinda know what youre talking about. I spray it with perfume or straighten my hair at night them sleep on it and sleep off the smell.

How do I get that nasty smell out of my hair after I straighten my hair?

Use a pre-straightening spray,

Chi has one called Iron Guard, but it's kind of expensive,

There are many other products that work good too.

They will protect your hair and make it look better, too.

How do I get that nasty smell out of my hair after I straighten my hair?

Before straightening you hair try using IC Hair Polisher, Heat Protector. Rub it in your hair before using any heating tools in your hair and that will protect your hair from heat damages and the bad smell.

Also the straighter might be too hot, try lowing it down so it won't do too many damage or it probably time to upgrade.

How do I get that nasty smell out of my hair after I straighten my hair?

The plates might be dirty on your straighteners. After a while mine get a 'burnt' look on them and before straightening with them again I wipe the plates with a damp cloth, dry them and leave it for a while. I'm not sure what causes it, it might be excess product in my hair after washing it, even though its always dry.

As someone else said, make sure your hair is dry or the burning smell is damaged, singed hair. A heat protecting spray might help overall as well. I use Lee Stafford spray (you can get it from Boots, its 鎷?.99) and it smells really nice and protects up to 250 degrees.

How do I get that nasty smell out of my hair after I straighten my hair?

I think the bad smell is probably your hair burning. That sounds really bad, but hair does burn a bit when it's flat ironed. Make sure to protect it with some kind of product. It's good that you let your hair dry completely. Also, make sure you're ironing it in a room with low humidity...so not in the bathroom right after you've taken a hot shower. Straightening is much harder when humidity is around. Spray some heat-protecting spray on that you think smells good and iron your hair, making sure not to hold it too long in one area. You hair will be soft and smooth and smell nice :)

How do I get that nasty smell out of my hair after I straighten my hair?

Turn your straightener's heat DOWN! My sister does this and it makes me crazy! You arent supposed to turn the heat all the way up silly! If you turn it down and it still does it, spray your brush with perfume and brush it through your hair.

How do I get that nasty smell out of my hair after I straighten my hair?

i have the same straightener as you and the same thing happens to me.

its a good straightener so dont get rid of it

before i straighten my hair i limit the amount of products i use on my hair.

and after i straighten i spray it with some shine spray with a heavy scent ( i use garnier fructis ) and it smells amazing!

How do I get that nasty smell out of my hair after I straighten my hair?

you need a heat protector your buring your hair !!

idk why people dont know to use soemting like a serum in tehre hair to protect from the heat

i use tresemme heat tamer which smells really really good

and i use redken smooth down heat glide smells great too

but get the tresemme heat tmaer spray in your hair after your Done washing your hair then towel dry spray it in your hair then let it air dry or blow dry on low heat and then flat iron your HAIR!!

How do you get the "burnt" smell out of your hair when you straighten it?

It sounds pretty gross I know, but I always straighten my hair; and when I'm done my hair smells burnt. Does anyone know how to make it not smell burnt? Do i haveto put something in my hair? thanks :)

How do you get the "burnt" smell out of your hair when you straighten it?

don t straighten ur hair when its wet.

How do you get the "burnt" smell out of your hair when you straighten it?

Buy a better straightener. I never have that problem, you only have that problem when the straightener is not really good quality. Invest in a good one.

If you can't afford one for a while, buy a finishing spray that smells good or a protecting spray to spray on your hair before you straighten, it reduces damage and most smell good.

Never use body perfume. It contains alcohol, which dries out your hair even more.

How do you get the "burnt" smell out of your hair when you straighten it?

Well, maybe you need to get a different straightener, or set the temp down a little, thats not good. Otherwise, I always use a lightly scented perfume or body spray, spray it infront of my and swing my head up and down into it, or raise your arm as far as you can and spray it, so that the spray "falls" onto your hair...Thats so your hair won't look greasy or anything...Don't spray it directly on your hair. They also have hair perfume that you can get anywhere. Good luck.

How do you get the "burnt" smell out of your hair when you straighten it?

i think you need to invest in another hair straightener if your hair smells like that...

How do you get the "burnt" smell out of your hair when you straighten it?

use a lower heat setting!!! clean any styling product buildup from the surface of the iron with a soft, damp cloth

How do you get the "burnt" smell out of your hair when you straighten it?

You NEED to use product when straightening your hair. You need to use some sort of straightening gel and I would also suggest some of the spray (like CHI) that you spray in your hair just before straightening. Otherwise you are ruining your hair.

How do you get the "burnt" smell out of your hair when you straighten it?

Well, besides buying another straightner, I would use some sort of product. Actually, I DO use some sort of product lol. I'm usually in a hurry so I pop it up to the highest setting and just straighten it really quick, so I get the same thing. I use Garnier Fructis Style: Smoothing Milk.

1. It smells good and will get rid of the burnt smell

2. It will keep your hair down and get rid of any frizzies that might pop up during the day!!!

Its pretty much a win-win. And it's not too expensive, it also lasts a while!!!

How do you get the "burnt" smell out of your hair when you straighten it?

it must just be that your leaving the iron to long on one piece of your hair, which burns your hair thus making it smell burned so you should just put a little baby oil on ur hair, but not alot or else it'll look oily

How do you get the "burnt" smell out of your hair when you straighten it?

sweetie- you've got the iron up WAY tooo hot! you should never set it higher than 200- and that's pushing it! a good way to know if it's too hot or not- take a piece of tissue paper- and clamp your iron on it for 3 seconds. if it turns yellow, or brown- it's too hot! I recommend using a thermal spray protectorate. There are a wide varieties available at your local beauty supply! They really help protect your hair from over-heating, and also add shine, and reduce frizz to make the straightening last longer. Plain and simple- your hair smells burnt because it IS!

How do you get the "burnt" smell out of your hair when you straighten it?

use herbal essence's dangerously straight shampoo and conditioner

How do you straighten YOUR OWN hair with flat irons? Especially the back.?

I have GHD original ceramic straighteners, only problem is doing the back is really hard and I end up snagging the hair and making it frizzy. My hair is not curly, just wavy and using straighteners makes me look tons better. Getting someone else to do the back for me is not an option unless I make a friend come over and do it every time I want to straighten (stupid!)

So what are your tips on straightening your own hair with flat irons? Also I was wondering how long you hold the straighteners in your hair for/do you do a swift movement or gradually? And what hair protector spray do you use %26amp; how do you spray it - briefly all over the hair or for every section?

Thankss!

How do you straighten YOUR OWN hair with flat irons? Especially the back.?

Straightening the back hairs can be difficult, but there's a way around it. First off, you make very small sections in the back (3-inch squares, at the very most) and clip them up separately. You position two mirrors on the diagonal from each other so you can see the back of your head perfectly. Then you take the clipped sections of hair out one by one and straighten them, starting at the bottom of your head (the nape/neck area) and working your way to the top/crown of your head, just like you see in the beauty salon. You comb each section out first with a fine-tooth comb to eliminate any tangles. (If the tangles are still in your hair when you iron it, the knots will be ironed in too and you'll be left with a strange kink in your hair.) Then you go over the section *slowly* with the iron to eliminate all frizz... it should take you approximately 5 seconds to move the iron down an inch or two. Don't move the iron slower than that or you could heat-damage your hair.

All heat-guard products I've encountered are pretty much the same! (Of course, everyone swears by a particular one *lol*) They protect a little bit, but you're still gonna get some heat damage over time. You spray it however you want, really, as long as all the hair is coated. If your hair is very thick, you might want to lift the top half up and spray the bottom half so you can get the inner hair coated too. After spraying it on, of course, you comb it through to make sure it gets in there good.

How do you straighten YOUR OWN hair with flat irons? Especially the back.?

position two mirrors, one in front of you and one behind you. this will help you see what sections you have done and what sections you havent. it takes a little bit of getting used to but it really does help.

start at the bottom layer and section the rest out of the way, then work in panels all the way to the top. holdy your straighteners at the roots and make a swift movement down to the end of the hair, do not stop half way through the motion othewise you will create a "line" in the hair. Use a comb to follw your straigteners to help starighten the hair, this is because the hair is more likely to stay straight when it is hot and teeased with a comb. (its hard to describe in words! sorry)

I use ghd straighteners and I have masses of curly curly curly curly hair and this method helps me get poker staright hair. in addition to this use ghd iron iol which you stray on the scection before you straighten it. it stops the hair going dry and helps in stay straighter longer (ie no kinking or ends curling out) use it sparingly though it goes along way. Here are some websites you might wanna have a look at which may help you understand a little bit better. I hope this helps you! get practising! lol xxx

How do you straighten YOUR OWN hair with flat irons? Especially the back.?

Hi, I have GHD's too and my hair sounds exactly like yours, not curly but wavyish and you're right, straightners make it look so much better!

I've had my straightners since i was 11 and now I'm 16 so I'm pretty good at straightening!

First divide your hair into layers, so get all the top part of your hair, clip it back and just leave the layer by the nape of your neck.

Spray it with protecter spray (I have GHD iron oil spray, it's about 鎷?3) don't go full on crazy while spraying, just lightly mist it over each layer.

Then get a flat brush and as you comb a section of your hair SLOWLY, you straighten it at the same time. You have to make sure that you straighten at the same speed otherwise you will get kinks in your hair.

As for the back, what I do is I split my hair at the back into then bring the halfs to either side so I can see them, then I stretch my hand and crane my neck to one side, then I straighten it.

Then once I've finished one layer, I put some more hair down and do the same thing all over again.

Don't straighten in a swift movement otherwise it will fluff up your hair instead and then you end up having to go over it again and again. This will only damage your hair even more.

Do it slowly and press down fairly hard to it will be super straight and you won't have to go over it 10 times lol.

also, as i said before, it's really important to use a flat brush because otherwise you'll straighten all the knots in your hair. So just take a section of your hair, start combing from the top then apply the straightners on the top, so as the comb is going down, your bringing down the straightners after it.

Hope that makes sense!

took me ages to write!

How do you straighten YOUR OWN hair with flat irons? Especially the back.?

It depends on what type of hair you have.Maybe your hair is really sensitive. If its not then divide your hair into different sections.Divide the back up into smaller parts to make it easier.and spray your hair everynight with suave hairspray and wrap it.Every morning you might need to do touch upsso keep that in mind.

How do you straighten YOUR OWN hair with flat irons? Especially the back.?

When I straighten my hair I make sure I comb it really well to get rid of any tangles or whatnot, and then I clip it all up on the top of my head, apart from a small section at the back, near the nape of my neck. I spray a bit of Tresemme Heat Defense Styling Spray on it and straighten that section first. I don't keep the straighteners on the section of hair for long, I just run them through, with a tight grip though, so the plates come into contact with the hair well, if you get what I mean. Then I just keep taking small sections, spraying them and straightening them.

x

How do you straighten YOUR OWN hair with flat irons? Especially the back.?

well this is what i do...

1. i split my hair in to 2 bits as if your about to do bunches.

2. then straighten it in layers.

3. and when you've finished, put it all back to normal (not split) and find the middle of the back and quickly slide your straightners down it

this helps for me but is very hard to explain! so good luck

How do you straighten YOUR OWN hair with flat irons? Especially the back.?

Try splitting you hair into sections, it makes it a lot easier to straighten thick/wavy hair. I use CHI 44 Iron Guard when i straighten mine.

How do you straighten YOUR OWN hair with flat irons? Especially the back.?

I put my hair in a half poney and straighten all of that first... I get the back by putting it over my sholders and doing it that way then i put my half poney down and go over it some more just like before untill its all straight!!

How do you straighten YOUR OWN hair with flat irons? Especially the back.?

I section my hair and secure most of it in a clip, leaving a thin layer starting from underneath. Don't hold the straighteners on your hair for long as they are very hot and will damage your hair.

I comb a section at a time, first then glide the irons through the hair from the root to the tip. I then bring down more hair, using thin layers until I get to the top. I tend to turn my head to the side, and straighten the back by bringing it over my shoulders(don't know if that makes sense, it's kinda hard to explain) and then comb it into place.

How can u make ur hair be thinnier or flater besides straightening??

i want my hair to be thinner or flater cause my hair is really thick. I already striaghten my hair but i want it to be more flater and thinner

How can u make ur hair be thinnier or flater besides straightening??

straightening does a number on your hair thats for sure, chemical and the iron. I fight the same problem daily. Getting your hair thinned to often sometimes defeats the purpose too having so many shorter hairs underneath tends to push up the longer hair making it bushier. As far as conditioner goes I always use it just because if I did'nt it would be a total frizz ball. I use coconut oil on it once a week and put on a plastic cap before I go to bed and wash it out in the morning. I still often think of cutting it short to make life a little easier, since it takes at least 40 minutes to dry it now. Good luck.

How can u make ur hair be thinnier or flater besides straightening??

You should use a lot of conditionner. It makes your hair really smooth and makes it look flat. Don't straighten your hair, it's really bad for it.

How can u make ur hair be thinnier or flater besides straightening??

Well, to make it thinner, you could get a really good hair cut and tell the stylist to thin it with texturizing shears...As for flatter, have you ever thought about maybe having it relaxed? Or having a japanese straightening? One of my friends had that done and she LOVED it. It IS however, very very expensive to get the japanese straightening though as opposed to a regular relaxer service that between $60 to $100 depending on where you live, where you go etc.

How can u make ur hair be thinnier or flater besides straightening??

^^^It really depends what kind of quality conditioner you use. Herbal Essences helps though. If you want it to be in the best possible condition, DON'T blow dry it. It gets frizzy and then you get straight hairs. Wash your hair before you go to bed and make sure it's dry before you sleep and your hair should be healthy and look shiny. Trust me it's what I do and it works the best. Good Luck!!

How can u make ur hair be thinnier or flater besides straightening??

conditioner and having it cut in layers helps alot

How can u make ur hair be thinnier or flater besides straightening??

My hair is really thick and would pretty much be a puff. I now get Japanese Straightening process done to my hair every 6 months. It makes my hair lighter, straighter, and shinier. You can only do it if you don't color your hair. It has been a lifesaver.

How can u make ur hair be thinnier or flater besides straightening??

get it thinned out by a hair stylist

Scene hair for curly haired girl?

I have VERY curly hair. I have already decided to get side swept bangs and straighten them with a straightening iron. But I thought about getting scene hair too. The kind which is poofy at top and very thin at the bottom. I have very poofy hair so if I get it layered up top I think I can pull off the scene look, with a spin. Do you thin this will work? Please give your honest opinion, and any photos you have will be very helpful, seeing as they are scarce for curly haired people. Also, don't suggest that I get my hair permanently straightened or straighten it every day, my mom will not let me do that or dye my hair. I love my curly hair, and I love the scene hair look. I'm in a hard spot and I appreciate your opinions.

Scene hair for curly haired girl?

i think it will work.. and if it doesnt hair grows back.. its a perk of having a bad hair cut. ubt i really think that curly scene hair would be so cute and awesome cause you see alot more people with scene hair but not curls too. i tried to find you some pics but there was not to much so heres one.

http://photobucket.com/mediadetail/?medi...

i dont know if its that good but i would still go for it anyway. it would be cute.

Scene hair for curly haired girl?

I am having the exact problem. I am going to do side bangs, leave the rest of my hair out and do a kind of piecey look. Maybe cut the bangs a bit myself.. heres a link for some photobucket pics.. the whole album is pretty good for ideas.

And i hope that itll work out for youu.

Good luck. :)

Scene hair for curly haired girl?

ohh yea fer sure if you can get your hair pretty straight then yes it will work no doubt just go to photho bukcet and type in scene hair and you'll get toms of pic's

Japanese Straightening?????!!?

I have wavy/curly hair that is about "boob" length. Its sort of damaged with lots of split ends but im getting a trim soon...i've been getting a chemical straightener done to my hair (doing it myself) for almost 6 months. I'm tired of spending money on the straightener when it ends up fading away or not getting it straight enough in the first place. I'm realllly considering getting my hair Japanese Straightened or Thermally Reconditioned but its really expensive and i want to know if it works. Also whats the best place in Michigan to get it done? I live in Jackson and I don't have many people who would drive me 3 hours away (im 14). So my questions are what the cheapest pleace to get it done, the BEST place to get it done in/near michigan, will it damage my hair further or will it look healthier, how expensive is it normally, and how well does it work...any pictures? PLEASE EXPIRIENCED PEOPLE ONLY! Dont anwser this if you have no clue about japanese straightening please%26amp;thks!

Japanese Straightening?????!!?

I have done it after I didn't like my hair permed and it was awesome. It makes your hair VERY SHINY too because it's totally different from straight perm. It's meant to be healing your damaged hair too. Do it like every 3-4 months for short hair, a half year for long hair. Why short hair period is shorter is because Japanese Straightening has to be done everytime your hair gets longer. If your hair doesn't grow much, then you don't need to re-do it much.

http://www.ciel-hair.com/file/22/cimg117...

http://www.ritomo.net/file/30/photo003.j...

It works, I don't think you'd think you wasted your money though I agree it's expensive.

Japanese Straightening?????!!?

you said "boob" imma report you

Japanese Straightening?????!!?

my friend did that it looks really nice and is all smooth and silky =) she said it was expensive and took like 6 hrs tho =/

Japanese Straightening?????!!?

I highly doubt that any salon will do a thermal reconditioning/japanese/brazilian straightening on your hair, because of all the box straighteners you've used. Your hair is likely VERY damaged because I'm sure you probably pulled it all the way through instead of just applying to new growth.

Don't try it. You're risking your hair breaking out. If you insist on spending a fortune for what can be done with a flat iron, then make SURE to tell the stylist that you've used box straighteners on your hair doing it yourself.

Japanese Straightening?????!!?

I am not an expert but found some good info here ... Hope it helps. Good Luck!

Japanese Straightening?????!!?

i think its alright, i have a guy friend who straightens his hair

Do u think its right for boys to straighten their hair?

Set your flat iron on high, but not to wear it is going to fry your hair. You will also need a heat protectant (you can get it at you local drug store or they sell them at the grocery stores now), this is good for your hair if you do it everyday, so it wont dry it out. Next you need to have a comb. Take a pea size amount of the heat protectant and rub it together in your hands then in to your hair evenly and make sure not to put it near your scalp it will make your hair look oily. Next take a small section of hair and using your comb, comb the hair first and then using the comb and the flat iron (comb should be infront of you flat iron when you are running the flat iron down your section of hair) start at the root and go down to the ends. When you get to the end of your hair roll the flat iron under slightly so it will not look like your ends are poking out. Do this until your entire head is done. Hint: flat iron your hair in the direction you want it to go in. This is the best way to keep your hair flat and you can probably go at least two days, when you do it this way.

Try not to sweat a whole lot cause this will cause your hair to get wavy.

Do u think its right for boys to straighten their hair?

One of my guy friends does it every day and it doesn't bother me...but if my boyfriend did that i would dump him because that would be wierd.

Do u think its right for boys to straighten their hair?

get braids that will look nice, guys do that now

Do u think its right for boys to straighten their hair?

I'm a guy and I straighten my hair all the time. A lot of girls like it and who cares if people give you crap about it. If you like it, then you should keep it. My friends tell me I'm stupid for doing it, but I don't care because there are plenty of other people that like it. (Especially me)

Do u think its right for boys to straighten their hair?

So what?my brothers straighten their hair all the time, but it's quite funny and girly!

Do u think its right for boys to straighten their hair?

It's fine as long as it makes you happy. Right before you straighten your hair, you should put a smoothing serum to protect your hair from the high heat and apply the serum again after your done styling to prevent frizz and fly aways. This works for me.

I need soem help here plz? i cant straighten my hair :S?

ok im and emo kid who lives for his style/music(haters go **** yourselves) i love my style i mean i really love it but my ******* heair is curly and i dont know how to straihten it i got a good sraighterner buty it wont work no matter what i try can anyone tell me the correct way to straighten really curly hair?

I need soem help here plz? i cant straighten my hair :S?

take ur time with it, and if that still dont work, then try straightening products to put on ur hair b4 u straighten it

I need soem help here plz? i cant straighten my hair :S?

leave it curly...most people like their men to have nice hair...;-)

I need soem help here plz? i cant straighten my hair :S?

k, right after you get out of the shower blowdry it in layers than iron it in layers....

i also have really curly and thik hair...

I need soem help here plz? i cant straighten my hair :S?

Well, depending on how short it is, you may have to blowdry it before you straighten it.

Otherwise, make sure its washed, and not a day old. Day old, or older curls are much harder to get rid of than just-washed-barely dried curls.

If it still isnt straightning for you, you can try some straightning products, but from my tests, they dont do much except for re-wet your hair and make it greasy.

There is one hair straightener out there that I suggest to anyone and everyone I meet, and the best part is, its affordable for anyone looking for a hair straightener.

Its called a wet to straight. thats the product name. they come in all sizes, and different price ranges. I have the larger one, and i have poodle curly hair. It works perfectly everytime, even though its old.

I might suggest you get the smaller one so you can concentrate on smaller areas of your hair which might do the job.

it has settings from heat rating of 1 to 30.

i use thirty, and my hair gets stick straight.

I need soem help here plz? i cant straighten my hair :S?

just ask a friend who straightens their hair

or go to a salon to get a cut and watch how your hairstylest does it

I need soem help here plz? i cant straighten my hair :S?

lmao haha I remember when I had trouble straightening my hair. Its all daily exercise now. After my shower I put a straightening gel **** in my hair I got awhile back and comb my hair while its drying to keep it pretty straight. Then when its mostly dry I use my straightener to dry it (I have one of those amazing wet to dry ones =D) and start straightening it. I finish getting ready for school or whatever and then go straighten it for about another half hour with a differnent regular straightener, hairspray, and straighten again. Kay? No biggie. Message me if you need more help.

Ooooh before I forget, make sure you have one of the skinnier straighteners that has a temperature control on it. It straightens better on a higher heat for coarse hair even though your hair may not be coarse.

Lmao, god I love my straightener. Muchus luck!!! ;P

I need soem help here plz? i cant straighten my hair :S?

Is it normal for bits of your hair to fall out when you straighten it?

When i straighten my hair bits of hair falls out, not loads! just strands, i DO use heat protection.

is this normal?

Is it normal for bits of your hair to fall out when you straighten it?

Mine does this too. As long as it is not more hair than you would lose with brushing, I think its fine. Keep using the heat protection and consider occasionally doing a hot oil or deep conditioning treatment to keep your hair in tip top shape. Getting regular trims will help also. When your hair has fewer split ends, you will lose less hair when you style it since your styling tools won't get caught in the ends.

Is it normal for bits of your hair to fall out when you straighten it?

Yeah, that happens to me too. Its normal esp. if your hair sheds easily like mine.

FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall a lot? Don't worry, you're not alone. Millions of people from all around the world suffer from dry, brittle and weak hair. Some of the possible reasons for falling hair are:

Tension

Too much work

Illness

Poor diet

Over-exposure to the sun

Perming

Amateur bleaching

Too frequent and inexpert use of tints, rinses or other colourants

Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall

Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP.

Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth.

A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must.

Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday.

Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull.

Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down!

ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc.

A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness.

VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to wholemeal and wheatgerm, eggs, vegetable oil.

COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper.

Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month é—…å“£ if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

Quick Hair Care Conditioner

Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable.

Honey Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour.

Alcohol Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth.

Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours

ESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall.

Wide-toothed comb

Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly.

The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

Leave-in conditioner

Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

Oil

Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

Egg

Egg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

i love my wavy hair too, but i dont know of any girls that try to be like regina george,

shes not even a real person

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

i always have a frizzy puff. so no, i don't straighten my hair... but, i know what you mean... my sisters have pin straight hair and still straighten it.

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

i have to agree with u....their just snobs who think their the sh*t...and who care in 5 years from now everyone will be talking about how they were the easy girl to screw...their nothing but a joke to me..

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

Not everyone straightens their hair.

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

well strait hair is IN duhhhhhh.....get a life omg!

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

Most girls just wanna fit in so they'll do ANYTHING just to fit in. That's why they act and dress like complete ******'*.

And most girls straighten their hair because even when its naturally straight it still sorta flips out or under at the edges.

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

I straighten my hair just because it makes my hair feel better. Seriously. I don't care if I'm damaging it. No straightening no letting it down

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

i hate it when all some girls can think about is straightening their hair! i have a few friends with really pretty curly hair but they decide to straighten it and they look gross!

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

It's been "IN" for quite a while. It's nothing new. I used to straighten my hair but I quit because it got so damaged and it thins out the hair too much. Though the reason i did it is because it made my hair super shiny.

Don't blame Mean Girls for that though. It's been going on way before.

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

I've never straightened my hair.

I know what you mean. So many girls are straightening their hair within an inch of it's life.

I understand if they're trying to straighten out a wild kink from sleeping on it weird or something like that, but the whole head all of the time..? Blah.

Don't get me wrong, I like straight hair just fine, but it does seem that everyone does (though I know it's not everyone) to the point of burning their hair.

Of course, I also believe that if they want to do it, then they should. It's just that in my opinion, when it's straightened to this point, it just isn't attractive. That's just me though.

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

i straighten my hair because i have a big ball of uncontrolable fluff therefore i have to straighten my hair.. happy? and i didn't start straightening my hair because of that W**** regina george. i started it because my friends introduced me to it cuz they hated my fluff ball thank you very much

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

I think it is one of those want what you don't have things, they don't have sstraight hair and now they can make it different. as for the regina george thing after watching the movie they don't relly look at the moral\which are don't act like a total ***** becuase people to like you and you get hit by a bus but that if they dress and act like that they may have a slight chance of becoming popular(which as a teen is all they want) even if it is only for a while you were stll on top.

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

You know, one person straightens their hair, then another person, and bam you have a new fad. I got sucked into that for 2 whole years. Ugh, I can't believe it. I'm wearing my hair natural (it's between wavy and curly) next year, or I'm curling it. And maybe I'll occassionally straighten it, but it's so ugly when you have stick thin hair! It makes your face look fat, too, if you don't have bangs!

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

that's stupid to blame it on mean girls. it's just a fad now, whatever...and the girls at your school are probably just idiots/ wannabees. no offense to you at all

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

yeah, i don't understand it either. i have wavy hair, and i LOVE it. wouldn't straighten it

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

I think its stupid that girls with already straight hair straighten their hair. My gahd be happy with it! I do straighten my hair sometimes, but thats because I have uncontrollable thick and frizzy hair when its natural. I love my natural hair, and so does other people, but sometimes its good to take a break and have it easier.

Idk bout the Regina George thing, I guess since she's popular in Mean Girls, people think if they act like a slut and a 2faced b****h to everyone maybe they will be popular too.

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

lol, i guess that movie had more of an influence on people than we thought. wasn't regina supposed to be the evil one?... and yeah, she was a slut

anyways, i don't straighten my hair :)

and it's sorta wavy so i'm proud

i dunno, it's sorta the trend to for some reason...

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

Regina George is the bomb, i wish i was her so dont dis her n her straight hair

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

I have naturally straight hair but I straighten mine because its really thick and on the long side, so if I don't straighten i my hair kind of just goes all over the place. Sometimes my hair dries with little waves in it too so if I'm trying to make my hair look perfectly straight I HAVE to straighten it. I rarely straighten my hair though, I curl or wave it, because I think hair looks much better curled or straightened.

I think a lot of girls straighten their hair because its the new "trend" and whatnot.

I don't know anyone who acts like regina george...

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

I just like how it looks. Is that so bad?

I mean, I dont do it all the time. I just like how it looks. (plus, I haven't even seen Mean Girls.)

i don't think you have a right to judge people on just what they do with their hair.

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

Not to be rude in anyway but like why try to call out the people who straighten their hair or try to act like regina george what about like the people who dress in all black or like when did it become a trend to cut yourself cause i know alot of people who do that too. I mean thats like asking why people Curl their hair .CAUSE THEY WANT TO . so what if some girls want to dress slutty or whatever thats their business and i can say proudly I have straight Hair and i STRAIGHTEN it .

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

I noticed this trend too.

I can't believe those girls who straighten like every single day!

That is damaging. Don't they know?

No use in complaining about it though.

Why have all girls started to straightening their hair? and what's up with trying to be like regina george?GOD

I straighten my hair because prior to hair straightening i had to use a lot of greasy product, to control my hair and starightening offers a much more polished look. My friends agree here, and it most certainly wasn't inspired by mean girls (none of us have seen it) it was more due to the increased availability and quality of straightening irons that occured roughly four years ago (when i started straghtening my hair). Unfortunately i can not explain the 'regina george effect.' Here in NZ we most certainly aren't free from cattiness during school, but during the time i spent in America over the last ten years, I noticed it was much, much worse over there. Poor you.

I need some tips on straightening my hair?

I just had my hair cut so that it's a little shorter than shoulder length so it will be more managable in the dorms. But the thing is that my hair was so long before that I've never straightened on my own. Now, I have to learn how.

I can do the front and sides just fine but I get frustrated because I can't go as fast as I'd like. And I have trouble doing the back because I'm afraid of burning myself and I can't see what I'm doing.

How do I get it stick straight? How do I do it quicker? How do I straighten the back? Please help me!

HI :)

The Best Thing is by a bottle CHI silk infusion. Use on damp hair with a round brush and blow dryer WALA Straight Hair!!

I need some tips on straightening my hair?

I straighten mines in the mirror. Don't be scared cause then you will burn yourself. Also you can use a smaller straightener because when I do smaller pieces, it gets straighter quicker and it will be harder to burn yourself.

I need some tips on straightening my hair?

straightening your hair will take time no matter what length, straighting your hair by sections and layers, letting down only some hair at a time, use a mirror and a handheld mirror to see the back where you need to see. burning yourself isn't as common as you think, you will get the hang of it after a few times.

1. use a light hairspray %26amp; a heat protection gel from VO5 called "Make it Straight!"

2. Blowdry your hair and then straighten.

3.Use a handheld mirror for the back !

I need some tips on straightening my hair?

Straighten your hair in sections... starting with the back. You're going to be afraid of burning yourself at first. You have to just keep doing it and then you will get used to it. It will be slow at first... but pretty soon you'll be able to do it fast. Just keep practicing.

I need some tips on straightening my hair?

well the answer for extremely quick and straight hair is simple but a little costly. u should just go to a salon and get a perm! even though u will need to get another one once ur hair grows out again, its worth it!

I need some tips on straightening my hair?

Okay, so start off before you do anything to your hair, you gotta put on some heat protecting serum to protect your hair from getting damaged like the one by infusium. Then, if you really want like straight straight hair everywhere then you should clip sections of your hair layer by layer so you can straighten it layer by layer then put on a finishing spray. Also make sure you're hair straightener has a temperature dial so you can make the heat like 21 degrees or something. If you have thick hair you should have a temperature higher than 16 degress, if you have thin hair then have it below 16 degrees. Hope that helps!

I need some tips on straightening my hair?

Whenever I want my hair stick straight I...

%26gt; Pull a good portion of your hair up in a clip.

%26gt; Start from the back and work your way to the front.

%26gt; Then let down a little more hair.

%26gt; Repeat process until completed.

I don't think there is a faster way.

I need some tips on straightening my hair?

Hey! I first start straightening my hair by putting on a hair protecter spray, any kind. Then blowdry and brush while doing that. Then I put up 3/4 of my hair on top of my head with a clip then I straighten that then 1/2 and so on.

I need some tips on straightening my hair?

well yougo to a good hair styleist an get yo hair did after email me( @kinchgirl@yahoo.com)so i can tell you how good you look.emaill me startin to say shantay shantay hey gone girl

I need some tips on straightening my hair?

Straighten your hair in layers. Put your hair up so about 1/3 of your hair is down. Then straigten it. Then do the next third. Then do your bangs(if you have any) and the last third. This takes me about 10 minutes but my hair comes to mid-chest. Plus I go pretty fast cause I do it practically everyday. Go to a hair place and get your self some mostuirser for your hair. Its in a packet. It takes the renews your hair after it is damanged by the heat.

I need some tips on straightening my hair?

It may straighten faster if you put a little hairspray on first. Like is does for curling hair, it may go faster.

I need some tips on straightening my hair?

well see i strighten my hair like ever day .. and it hard to get the back how you want it .. but do you hair in layer put half your hair up on the top of your head. it depends on how thick your hair is .. do about 2 to 3 layer .. and when it come to the back lift it up so you can see it and go slowely when strighting it .. but dont strighten you hair with nothing in it .. cuz you dont want to dry it out .. I use this stuff it from vo5 and it work amazing. . here is a link of the picture ..

http://www.thisnext.com/media/230x230/Al...

but most of all use hairspary so it will protect you hair a little..

o yeah and use pantene shampoo for damaged hair.. and it would work really good when you strighten it .. it wont look dryed out ..

hope i helped
